India's Super Sukhoi's will technologically out-match China's latest Su-35 jets

Just have a look at T50, you will know how "good" Super Sukhoi will be.

China buy it because it's just an window of opportunity to get something China didn't have such as 3D nuzzles engine and some other unrevealing secrets that Russia is agree to offer to China and at the same time to send a strong message to India for refusing their SU-35 but chose Rafale instead. Russia is willing to cooperate with China to compensate the lost of India market...and as conclusion India don't gain anything over China by turning their back on Russia, Russia has nothing to lose because they can always cooperate with China and China is the ultimate winner :china:because we gain Russia as potential source of military supplier...of course if they have something we need :enjoy:
It's very hard to believe for our Indian friend.

This is a comparison of which Russian imports are better? And it's possible that India receive better Russian imports than what China import. This is because India rely entirely on Russia imports for its front line fighters(LCA is a parade plane). China rely on reverse engineer development such as j-11D, J-16 or self developed platform such as J-10s and J-20. This article completely ignore Chinese own development and focus on imports. Which would not reflect China's fighter capability...

The author views the Su-35 as representative of the best that the Chinese have to offer, aside from the J-20 or FC-31. This isn't the case, as the Su-35 serves as a stop-gap until the J-11D (which, interestingly, incorporates all of the upgrades the Super Sukhois do, and then some) enters service en masse. That is why only 24 Su-35s have been purchased by the Chinese while they concurrently invest in the J-16 & J-11D. It would also be interesting to know that the J-16 (which is already in service) also utilizes much of the upgrade scheme adopted by the Super Sukhoi (e.g. AESA radar, airframe & engine upgrades, avionics enhancements, etc.).

So, while the author may be correct in insinuating that the Super Sukhoi might outmatch the Su-35 in certain aspects of its performance, such discrepancies do not matter in light of the J-11D & J-16, which will be procured in far greater numbers and whose technological evolution matches or outstrips that of the Super Sukhoi.

You are right, Indian strategists do not seem to be taking Chinese J series seriously, 5th gen etc. They treat the Pakistani version of it as a joke as well. The threat they perceive is sale of SU 35's to China and f16 sales to Pakistan.

It remains to be seen if this is due to ignorance or they think it doesn't need to be taken seriously.

So an upgrade to older plane/block Will outmatch an existing advance plane. By the way, before matching, do we have Chinese SU-35 details to compare with? It was told about Indian Super Upgrade that will bring SU-30 close to SU-35 but not the match nor superior at all. There was no sense introducing SU-35 with such price tag and then upgrade package superior to own latest machine to downplay the same in market for mere upgrade money.
Depends upon what technology incorporated in upgrade
The total cost of MKI MLU is 12-15 Billion $ Thas some serious money !!!

Super sukhoi upgrade is comes with elements of FGFA along with integration of some weapons package for example incorporate new gen AESA seeker missiles with system

Radar is main difference btw the two
IBRIS-E is PESA on other hand India is going for GAN version of ZHUK AESA with 360 degree coverage

Engine's upgrade

+TVC nozzels

So its conjunction to undermine MKI just because its SU-30 is anomaly

Sometimes bury head in the sand make them feel safe.

The so called Super Sokhoi is just another bait to bleed Indian money. With same amount, one can go for brand new Su35. India is smart, very smart!

So you agree that SU MKI was better than, your fighter Jet inventory then that forced china to purchase SU 35 from russia. Super sukhoies ( 200 + ) with 5th Gen engines and radar plus western/Israili plus indian weapons would be a threat to 40 SU 35 ?

I have no idea. Since last few years it has been hard to comprehend with rafael fiasco and all
That's because china always believed that their SUs were vulnerable to MKIS which have had better engine and firepower, that is the reason they purchased SU 35, indian upgrading MKIs to Super sukhoies with 5th engines and tech would make better than SU 35, china worried now. Russian or American 5th gen would always be better than China J 20.

LOL. like seriously, They only purchased to get the engine tech and to replicate the goodies. Unavailability of MKi alone is the prove to show how much potent they are.

First the new engine for FGFA is still in trails and it take years to make it into production. IAF may only go for already tested engines 41-F and why would they take chance with new engines at this point of time. So it's utter bullshit claims that's not even feasible. The structure of SU-30 MKI lifecycle is half the life of SU-35. The Super Sukhoi may get AESA, new EW, AL-41F engines and new mission computers. Every year IAF lose atleast a Sukhoi due to malfunction or pilot error. They need to be made reliable.

India's fleet of Su-30 MKI Fighter Jets are finally undergoing the Super Sukhoi Upgrade Programme. The IAF would have almost 270 Sukhoi-30MKIs by 2017 and the IAF Headquarters plans all them to be upgraded to the near fifth generation level and the IAF has decided to name them as Super Sukhoi.

For a long time, the only thing we knew about the proposed Su-30MKI upgrades was the name of the program: Sukhoi Super 30. There was no information about the technical specifications, timeline or costs. Commentators often confuse Sukhoi Super 30 with another upgrade program that aims to integrate the Su-30MKI with the air-launched version of the BrahMos anti-ship cruise missile.

These are in fact two independent and unrelated projects. BrahMos will be installed on only 40-42 planes. The program has already reached a fairly advanced phase of flight-testing to ascertain mechanical compatibility of the BrahMos-A air-launched missile with a reinforced Su-30MKI airframe. Live Missile launches have already commenced. The Sukhoi Super 30 program, on the other hand, will be rolled out to the entire Indian fleet of Su-30MKI fighters; it has yet to begin in earnest, and up until recently, there was very little information about it in the public domain.

The estimated cost of the Super Sukhoi-30 program is $10-12 billion.

China's induction of the Su-35 Jet ::

Sukhoi's Su-35S is a 4++ generation aircraft that employs fifth generation technologies. It is superior to most fourth generation fighters that are currently being developed worldwide.

The Su-35S is armed with the newest types of air-to-air and air-to-surface guided missiles, including long-range types.

The core of the Su-35S armament is a new radar control system with a phased antenna array (Irbis-E). It features unique capabilities in terms of the target detection range.

There is a pressing need for speeding up the Su-30MKI program in order to restore the Indian Air Force’s technological superiority over the Chinese. Essentially, India needs to pull off the same trick it did in the mid-1990s, when it responded to China’s mass procurement of Su-27/30 fighters with the original Su-30MKI program. Two decades on, India needs to respond to China’s Su-35 and J-31 jets with the Sukhoi Super 30.

India's Super Sukhoi's ::

The Super Sukhoi's will be kitted with Russian Phazotron Zhuk-AE Active electronically scanned array (AESA) radars. The X band radar can track 30 aerial targets in the track-while-scan mode and engage six targets simultaneously in attack mode. AESA technology offers improved performance and reliability compared with traditional mechanically scanned array radars.

During MMRCA trials the Zhuk-AE AESA radar demonstrated significant capabilities, including ground-mapping modes and the ability to detect and track aerial targets. The upgrade will also involve equipping all jets with stand-off missiles with a range of 300 km.

In Super Sukhoi, the electronics will be upgraded heavily and the Super Sukhois will carry more weapon loads compared to the Su-35.

Super Sukhoi will have same engine as in FGFA. It will enhance the life cycle of SU-30MKIs. However, first aircraft will be upgraded in two years time.

Super Sukhoi's deep penetrating Brahmos Missile will make it the deadliest fighter jet on the planet after the F-22 Raptor and No. 1 in dogfight capabilities and maneuverability.

There are basic differences between Indian and Chinese SU-30s as the Power plants do not match. On other counts also the Indian Su-30 is far more superior than the Chinese SU-30s which compelled them to opt for the Su-35. But India has again maintained its Air Force's technological superiority by choosing to upgrade all of its 272 Su-30 MKI's to Super Sukhoi Standards than make them virtually 5th generation fighter jets.

When Russia decided to indust MKI clone Su 30 in their airforce ignoring Su 35, it tells a bloody hell of story. Why Russia prefer SU30 with MKI Configuration over su 35? MKI is better than chinese Su 35 forget about super sukhoi.

Yes, j20 is fake.

J 20 is real but it is not fifth generation plane. Indian air marshal said that Indians are watching J 20 and it is not stealth nor it is any cause of concern for Indian Airforce.

Russia gave you Su 30 but you did not get anything in technology except design you can copy. Su 30 had 3D TW engine but still you bought Su 35. You just keep buying from russia.

It is nice to watch some of the Indian members going up and down claiming a lot from the Chinese perspective.

LOL. like seriously, They only purchased to get the engine tech and to replicate the goodies. Unavailability of MKi alone is the prove to show how much potent they are.
Technically speaking, it is the top level design of the aircraft that attracts the PLAAF the most.

its Risen from pathetic rate below 50% to
63% availability rate was reported last year you forget we add a squadron of MKI each year to our inventory

Since the maintainance contract signed few days back it will be 75% what standard set by IAF by year END

I am sure it will increase, as IAF is taking required measures. But my reply was too that ignorant poster, who thinks that only MKI is super duper

You can't come to conclusion like that based on peace to availability,f22 too have poor availability rate but that doesn't make f22 less potent. We have 270 like examples of mki,so even with less availability rate ,the entire mki fleet is very potent fighting machine in continent. You point will be valid for those who operates su30s in less numbers.

Point is. You have to Import and set up spare parts factory even after a decade. They( chinese) make their own jet and dont rely on importing during war. You will be waiting for replacement while they will be churning stuff out of factory and pounding the shit out of ya.
