What's new

India's "great afghan hope" quietly fading away

The part is that Pakistan and Afghanistan are neighbor and we will always have some sort of problem going on but the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan are the closest in the region and when it comes to mingling together, they will surely choose us over you.

Blood and cultural relations are stronger than relations of heart and last forever. So india is wasting time in Afghanistan
Pakistan is also India's neighbour , but did it help them in resolving their issues ? But look at your relations with China and our relation with almost everyone except Pakistan, it's much better isn't it ?

Cultural wise I don't see much difference between Afghanistan and India. There are many people from Afghan origin living in India as a resident and for rest we have Bollywood to connect with Afghanistan.

Pakistanis are so "Insecure" about Pakistan-Afghanistan relationship :coffee:

The article is pretty much spot on, The Indians still have strong influence with certain elements within Afghan government, The Afghan government needs to ensure their territory will be not be used by Indians to create chaos in Pakistan which has been happening for so many years.

It's a period of transition in Afghanistan.
After more than 14 years of US training and funding, the Northern Alliance forces (which were re-branded as the ANA) aren't able to keep a lid on things.
The current Afghan government is being pulled in two opposite directions by two leaders representing very different camps. The only thing holding the place together is the glue of US dollars, but that too is decreasing every day with the withdrawal of foreign forces.
The Indian bet was to bleed Pakistan dry with terrorism, while hiding behind the skirt of the Western alliance. As the focus of the world turns more towards the middle East and Asia-Pacific and the withdrawal from Afghanistan accelerates, Indian options in Afghanistan decrease.
It can either step in with more funding and troops (very unlikely considering Indian culture and history) or head for the exits with the rest and see it's investment evaporate along with it's assets.

What an unfortunate country Afghanistan is that their neighbour is Pakistan.

Pakistan has spread terrorism in Afghanistan and practically destroyed the lives of the good people of Afghanistan.

Pakistan sponsored and protected Taliban, an organization that they do not want in their own country, but want Afghan people to suffer under.

Of course, they can't win in Afghanistan while keeping against us. But even a limited presence of theirs with malicious intent damages Pakistan.

List of problems seen when Indians discuss Af-Pak affairs:

1) They don't know anything about the matter.
2) See above.

when will Pakistanies learn,Govt come and go,and policies change with change of govt.

Win the hearts of people if you need any influence for long run.

For that to happen,Pakistan should stop its territory being used to destabilise Afganistan.atleast thats what majority of Afgans belive

USA was funding and arming Taliban and pakistan whereas Russia was helping NA.

It was pakistan who was earning $$$ because of western forces in Afganistan, and made pakistan an Imp. member but after withdrawal how will pakistan beg ?

And I came here expecting an analysis from a media outlet, not the typical ramblings of a Pakistani so extremely paranoid by any Indian presence in Afghanistan that they have to keep pointing out the supposed "failures" of India inside that country.

With India now preparing to start transferring offensive military equipment (attack helos) to the Afghans I would say your "analysis" was quite far off the mark really.

Afghanistan: A Nation at a Standstill

And what has Afghanistan done over the past 15 years? The entire country was literally swimming in USD and has done nothing besides putting it in their own pockets.

Typical Indian mentality.
Pakistan is not begging anyone and doesnt need to. It's an important country in it's own right.
The only thing that the Afghan conflict brought to Pakistan is foreign funded terrorism and billions of dollars worth of destruction and lost investment.

That four helicopters can't do much to protect your strategic assets in there. You need to do more, a lot more.
Say deploying atleast a hundred thousand strong force along with Armour, artillery and air assets. The time for free riding on Uncle Sam's shoulders is over.
It's time to either put up or shut up.
Either show the world the superpower that you want to be or prove yourself the minion useless, good at nothing (apart from crying) free-rider that everybody knows you are
