India tells Asean it believes in ‘open’ South China Sea

No we just stop Chinese flagged vessel and tankers..and if you want see Malacca being closed for Chinese vessels ..all you have to do is attack Indian vessels in SCS.

Every vessel passing through Malacca and then Singapore straits has to pass in between Adman and Niccobar Islands with in few hundred miles of port blair, Indian tri service command and Sukhoi airbases in A&N islands.

India's Andaman and Nicobar Islands have the strategic position very good . It can completely control the routes into the Malacca strait

Well scale of the blockade will depend seriousness of the situation ..if an Indian flag vessel is attacked SCS ..a Chinese flag vessel would get a similar response at Malacca.

However if situation is more serious and calls for complete blockade of vessels en route too or from China.. that can also be done.
After all we blockaded entire East Pakistani and west Pakistani coasts for all foreign and domestic ships back in 71...Once and area declared a War zone ..merchant ships(especially the foreign flag ones) usually keep off it and those who break the blockade are either boarded and forced to change course or simply blown out of water(as happened to American flag vessels, carrying ammunition en route to Karachi.) or the ships which were destroyed in the "tanker war"(read about it) .

Blocking the strait is a act of war and there are other nations a that rely on it like SK, Brunei, Japan etc etc, PS India blocking the straits for Vietnam or just blocking will have international condemnation. again that was 1971 and it was pakistan, your taking about China who not only is a UN Perm member. Blocking Straits = suicide.

Obviously it is an act of war ..we are talking of post war situations where Indian vessels have been attacked in South China seas(btw which also an act of war.)

There will not be a war in the SCS thats why the USA is going back their, and no just like Iran who is threatening the strait of hormuz any country that trys to block malacca will under fire.

Its funny you say so, but primary threat for Chinese vessels transiting Malacca itself comes for US bases in Diego Garcia..ie in case of US-China stand off.

Haha yeah right, how are you going to stop ships that are using non-Chinese flags (i.e. most of them)? And we can switch them all to flags of convenience when we need to.

If you try blocking the entire area, then all the other nations in Asia will suffer for it. And how long can India hold out, considering this?

You can try it, we'll just switch the ship flags, and then cut off the whole of Northeast India via the "chicken's neck corridor". Partition version 2.0. :azn:

There will not be a US-China stand off due to we need each other as hard as it is to say and a china-us stand will be bad for the global economy it won't happen.

Lol how do you switch to flag of convenience..you go back in time and alter their registry??

Well it is not fantasy but a fact and part of their strategy....in fact US blocking Chinese oil at choke points such as Malacca is one of their worst fears.

No, just use different shipping companies.

So, basically India will be able to annoy us slightly for a while. While we repeat 1962, and cut off the "chicken's neck corridor", i.e. the whole of NE India. :azn:

Your own Army knows they are no match, how long do you think you will be able to stand against the nation with the largest manufacturing base in the world? We can make unlimited numbers of indigenous weapons systems, while India will have to buy them from overseas. (Not that it will require many missiles to sink an Indian ship in the first place.)

You can stop trolling now, I asked you for a source and now you go on a different diatribe altogether.

Enough members here have seen that news piece which you keep posting like you have nothing else to do... we understand what you said, so add something else, btw I'm still waiting for a source from you, I guess you were just blabbering...

The US will not allow China swallowed whole the East Sea (south china sea). It is not only the strategic route of the U.S but also of India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, ASIAN ...
If China successful to swallow the East Sea (south china sea), they will replace the dominant The U.S global hegemony...

Seems you have found another thing now... yeah we know we are no match for you, we are so miniscule in numbers that you will come bulldozing and we will be watching with terror. Our weapons are obsolete, our ships are made from cardboard. I hope you are satisfied now...please do not derail every thread you come across.

Not allowed? It is not up to them, because they are even considering to cut down their nuclear stockpile by 80%.
