India drops Israeli LAHAT, will develop own missile for Arjun Mk-2

why indians didn't buy israeli missiles even after they did dinga dinga dee for you ?

India must not depend on foreign nations for defence products but rather make them indigenously. Using foreign products is problematic and often results huge outflow of our money to other nations GDP and instead help them more. Self reliance is the best way to make a country secure.

What good is a national military that has to depend on other nations for weapons.

Falkland war between Argentina and Britain is a very good example of how the the British were able to bring down the french missiles used by the Argentinians by obtaining the codes from the french to disable them.

Also, India has started developing world class missiles of its own, which are cheaper and better.

Well, thats a different story and your are right. But, you should care about falkland war scenario as Indian jet and patriot type hard kill missiles (against missiles which acquired from Israel are foreign based) but its also normal, as very few countries can develop themselves. I think, india should invest more on engine technology which is really important. Good luck guys..

Is this news correct?

AFAIK, Rifled gun was chosen for Arjun only because it had capability to fire Lahat. It would be a big decision if Indians decide not to induct Lahat.

Could this be confirmed by Israeli posters. @500

Lahat can be fired from smoothbore 120-mm without problem:

Like your Country doing dinga dinga dee and MUzra in front of Arab and Chini.

Can we just not go into making fun of each other country which is rather unproductive and instead focus on discussing. It would be better if we can display nationalism in taking pride of our own country's achievements and start looking at things positively and constructively.

So, the million dollar question becomes is there is a missile which India can use/develop to take the place of Lahat.
