This is what lack of knowledge will get you. It was not due to Indian pressure But due to germany refusing to provide engine for chinese military submarines. Thailand and Pakistan faced the exact issue at the same time. Thailan also purchased chinese submarines and Germany refused to give them the engines as well. They had to scrap their deal.

Chinese have been producing versions of German engines for subs for DECADES..
This isn't 1990s

Battery technology anyone in tech sector would know that China is more advance then most countries simply because of demand

Considering Pakistan upgraded its Agosta 90B in Turkey, couldn’t they have sourced batteries from Turkey?

pakistan selected chinese engine it seems
we couldn’t back out like thiland maybe because its too important for us wht we r getting and engines weren’t that big of concern to overall package

The decision to use the Chinese -made CHD620 engine was taken last year by Pakistan Navy after evaluating the engine's efficiency, safety & capabilities for submarine operations.

The engine is a modified version of the CHD620 used on surface ships and incorporates noise-dampening.
