Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan (COAS) General Raheel Sharif who is in Turkey on special invitation by Turkish Govt, witnessed multi national military exercises "EFES" in two sittings, one last night and then also during day today.
Upon arrival at the exercise area, Turkish Chief of General Staff General Hulusi Akar, welcomed the COAS. Along with Turkish troops US, UK, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Azerbaijan, and
a contingent of Pakistani Armed Forces is participating in the joint exercises. Turkish President and Def Min also attended the Exercise. Turkish President also held a separate meeting with the COAS and thanked him for Pakistan's participation and his personal presence for witnessing the Ex which he said, will enhance the existing close friendly ties between Pakistan and Turkey specially between the two Armed Forces. President also praised Pakistan Army's accomplishments in Op ZarbeAzb and contributions towards regional peace and stability. COAS appreciated Turkish armed forces for an outstanding conduct of the Exercise of such magnitude and scope.
In our bid to share military experiences and enhance training exchanges, Pakistan Army, in the last three years, has conducted 52 joint military exercises, both inland and abroad, with partner countries.

both, AND more!!
Plus even if you consider this one aspect, resolving train issue will cost much more then a handful of other possible solutions to this issue will. Impractical.

Sir, For this issue roads were available, hence the Trucks with 90 Ton carriage capacity were procured. The main reason were the Gun Barrel and its Gasoline engine.

The train tracks are being upgraded to carry even higher payload.

Hmm Discussions :P ok we will wait for the next news.

Isn't Altay to Heavy for Pakistan??

I have seen here members always mentioning heavy tanks are not suitable for Pakistan because of deserts.
It is not desert which was hindering addition of heavy tanks into PA but the level of water in saline plains of central and eastern Punjab and in Sindh.
That condition is almost no more there in Punjab and at very low level in Sindh now.
Heavy tanks are being used in Middle East successfully.

I hope people wont start quoting this as "Pakistan signs deal for ALTAY MBT" :P

This sure looks a great system. Unfortunately there were some issues so there is almost NO chance for PA going for this tank. The best solution for us would be to get ToT for different parts and make a customized one for our self. This wont only be great for the current MBT procurement but will be beneficial for the future as well.
dont you dare say that way to much "interest"

just another attempt to break into the pakistani market. they getting sub sections of the anka built in pakistan as sweetners.

oh look ns in front of the t129

Up till now Pakistan army has only tested light combat tanks. Large and heavy tanks doesn't fit in Pakistan expected battle radius. Its mainly marshes, rice fields, muddy mountains and steep turns. Altay is good for Turkish terrain, but Pak and Turkey should work on some light weight battle tank. Right now only Russian and Ukraine has built agile and light combat tank, because during second world war they also face difficulty in mobilizing tanks in snow and extremely muddy roads.
Isreali built one of the finest tank , according to there need.
