I asked him how well he understands Europe outside of the UK. Europe isn't a single homogeneous region where everyone's the same, it's radically different from nation-to-nation. Romanian culture, practices and language, threat profile, doctrine and reasons differ from the UK, whose differ from Norway, whose differ from Finland, who differs from Germany and so on and so forth.

I'm not saying Blue Marlin would be a bad moderator (if that was even realistic, he just throw it out there like others have done with their suggestions), just that as a mod for the European section as a whole, I do question his ability to understand the rest of Europe. That said, I did acknowledge that he'd be a good mod of UK related threads, but I think that @waz already moderates such anyway, so this is a bit redundant.

I'm not picking on @Blue Marlin at all, just making a point that for the European section, one moderator can't understand all of Europe due to its vast differences.

I purposely wrote my response in Danish to illustrate these points.

EU should not be handled by mod of single nationality.Instead,it should be monitored by at least 3-4 different mods who are truly European. But winning management's trust is very challenging.Team will prefer to have greater workload rather than handing over control panel to newbies, and they really have strong reason for this, trust me.
Plus, there are people of other countries/continents who live in EU and claim to belong only EU.Meanwhile,we mistaken them(atleast I sometimes) as if they are real natives and get bad impression on basis of their wired behavior. You can ask this to Gary,we had such discussion few days back.

Would you clarify that what happened exactly?dad?excuse me?

this guy above sounds like my dad, he's negatively critical.

how did this guy get a professional tag. i want to know why?

I stand with Americans here. They are knowledgeable if you talk about defence matter whereas most of chinese friends are here to troll everyone. You cannot find anyone close to @gambit @sven (sorry I dont remember complete name), @jhungary @darkchoclate (sorry again) and many others whereas Chinese are more into insulting others.

I agree with you. He is biased.

I didn't promoted him.He seem to have contacted directly and get promoted. However, there you go:

@Blue Marlin Hi Marlin. I think you're a great poster. Mod suggestions are usually put forward on a section that you can't see, and by moderators. One of the main criteria is that you should have spent a substantial number of years on the forum, so you were able to build trust, earn the respect of even your rivals and so on.

He has spent over a decade in the Norwegian army.

As for the topic, I agree with Slav, petty fighting ruins threads. But hey, have you seen the Middle East section? The China v US threads are tame in comparison. :woot:

I was banned for like 3 months from the China & East Asian section for arguing with these Chinese posters and fake flag users like Superboy/Opruh.

I don't even bother to post in that section or rarely do I do knowing how these users are when you try to have a dialogue.

I might ask an admin to re-ban me in that section. I would suggest to other users who have a problem with these baiting trolls to do the same :D it isn't worth the time arguing or getting banned for good over it.

Same. Meanwhile they can say whatever they want.
