Export bids for JF-17 Thunder Multirole Lightweight Fighter Aircraft

Tejas is less a requirement more a national dignity project...... how can India be super power with out personal heli and fighter? Experts working on Tejas already know that Air Craft is dead even before birth...... what is the point of indicting an Air Craft which become obsolete with in half a decade??
Why IAF use a air craft which is inferior to any modern air craft of China and Pakistan??
They just want to keep the morals of their fans high who were seeing Tejas killing Thunders in air in dreams, they cannot spoil their dreams so rudely...... I guess IAF will ultimately cancel this drama and go for Gripens....... If tejas fails, so will be FGFA or any other air craft India want to produce.....so dear indians. be good guys and keep buying stuff from international markets to justify your so called threats......:coffee:

well @Tipu7 you're mostly right. from what i know the tejas will happen, eventually. but in short numbers not more than 126 max (about 7 squadrons) they cant get the gripen because they can afford it in large numbers, yes i know its significantly cheaper than the typhoon and the rafale. but i cant see it as a possibility. the swedes are amazing people and they are not corrupt like France and other(no names) the Swedes will help india even with a sub but india is simply to ambitious and will fail.

Tejas Mk1 if ever inducted will serve as trainer...... and at max 36 are to be made....... they r hoping high for Mk2, with AESA, which will be a nice air craft if ever become practical........ but it will be more tough job than Mk1......
And Indians might consider Gripens, not now but may be later if Tejas collapse completely.....
A Swedish official visited India couple of weeks ago to offer help in Tejas project or offer Grippens with TOT as a replacement......
And IAF has good reason to go for them..... why?? Forget PLAAF....... even PAF with 76 F16s and 150 Thunders by 2018 will be too tough to face ....... MKI cannot do every thing..... and if Indians see this coming, they will go for gripens........

with the jf17 you say they are building 150. to replace the j-7 and the miragesIII/v the j-7 and total mirage fleet go toa combined total of 343.

do you think that paf is cutting the air force in half? or are they to be subsidised with other jets

"IAF, DRDO and Aeronautical Development Agency are now getting set to seek the Cabinet Committee on Security's approval for the initial design and development phase for AMCA."

U cant handle the inferior aircraft but are pushing ahead with the superior one. A new white elephant in making or what?

they are selling brand new almighty super air superiority jf-17 slayer of infidel (made with help of infidel) just to buy second hand f-16
Go and improve your knowledge on jf17 and used mlu f16 in paf inventory. By the way used f16 have been procured by paf years before jf17 export orders.

Full plan for F-17 is 250 as replacement for Mirage and F-7.. @Tipu7 says about 2018 and new F-7pg's and some upgrade mirage's have still life of some more years.. there might be a third jet option if not then F-16s no. will be increased..

Too optimistic ! Are you serious! talk sense

Indians can conduct industrial sabotage or diplomatic one too by forcing any potential customer to back off from the deal. even companies of apparently friendly countries do that to each other. read how American companies caused the closure of Canadian and European companies.

so hold off the celebrations yet.
Wet dreams of lca fan boys will remain a wet dream.
Any way go and offer tejas to Myanmar in place of thunder.

It is in Premilinary design phase and done some wind model testing. GOI had slowed down the work on AMCA to push the completion of Tejas first.

The whole world is now seeking 5th gen stealth fighter jets and you are happy about your.... 3rd gen Junk Fighter-17, India seeking a state of the art Rafale/FGFA, while you are seeking more of the technologically retarded Junk Fighter-17 :chilli:
