Banks are not as safe as his edhi center?
If a bank manager misappropriates your money, you still will be paid and the manager will be jailed. Big banks are all regulated, its not a joke to steal money from bank, although it happens from time to time.

And since when we have started to question morality of decoits? Am pretty sure edhi center people know decoits operate in karachi.

Edhi has absolutely no stakes in politics or anything of the sort, so questioning his motives or wealth has zero basis. Just look at him, he doesn't look like someone who would have that kind stuff in his mind. His gold could have been his personal wealth or the charity's, there is no reason to believe it was illegitimate or otherwise suspicious. Lets not forget he runs many,many private hospitals and services, many people prefer to pay for them, that money has to go somewhere.

As to why he didn't trust a bank, there's definitely something wrong there. Possibly he was under threat from one of the mafias and didn't want to expose the presence of his wealth - didn't do any good either way.

I disagree that we should start demanding more transparency from charities in Pakistan, right now we need to encourage charities like Edhi and not discourage them. Looking at the situation today, I am sure the whole transparency thing will just become an excuse to take bribe from them (i.e: "give us this much money or we will say your charity is corrupt")
Not a priority right now. If the government become transparent and less corrupt, charities and the like will automatically follow suit.

No reputable news source has ever reported anything like that, so It's probably just internet troll bs. His son doesn't live in London, he just maintains some presence there, mostly running charity shops

Pakistani's society is collapsing. Edhi is the last man that any Pakistani would dream of harming. Really sad state of affairs.

How true!!! What could anyone have against Abul Sattar Edhi? He is the closest thing to be a 'living saint'.

But one thing is mystifying; why was 5Kg of Gold lying around in the premises? In these times Gold is not used for any legit transactions, even cash is barely necessary nowadays. Gold is just a magnet for criminals, easy to carry away and hard to trace; ideal for money-laundering.
