Do Han people discriminate against ethnic minorities? Xinjiang girl tries wearing Uyghur traditional attire in downtown Nanjing to see the response

That is not chinese sword fighting during that era. How do you know he's chinese, btw? He doesn't even speak chinese or try to speak, just grunts.

Because he looks Chinese. His tone and narrow speech directive is Chinese. Mongols do not do that.

He does not even look Mongol.

Mongols and suljuk were bitter enemies. But we can not deny the fact they are turks.now They are by passport Chinese but bloodline turks. There is no question about that. Countries do change their geographical borders. Today they part of China and sometimes ago they were part of great suljuk and tamuri empire. So you never know what brings for them after some 100 years

What the?

No, this is not the way chinese speak or act during the Iron age or the Spring Autumn period.

This is the Qin's era but yeah, same difference.

Chinese at the times already develop language, poem and clothes, not a naked guy grunting LOL.

That "naked guy" grunting was a fighting teacher. Not wearing regular clothes. His grunts had a strong Chinese accent and he looked Han Chinese, not Mongol.

How could he be Mongol? The narrator also stated he was taken to the far east to continue his training. That would be Western China which is east of Kazakhstan.

Yeah that is not chinese armor either, the guy looks and acts like a japanese.

The East of Kazashtan is Xinjiang, which during the time is not occupied by Han chinese, but by turkics.

Only during the Han dynasty that Han chinese expand to Xinjiang and Central Asia.

Like bro, I'm not sure where all this Western China stuff comes from.

Ok, firstly Xinjiang was inhabited by Tocharians, not Turkic people at the time. The woman Conan was first bred to was Tocharian.

Turkics were very limited in territory and population at the time. We're discussing the Iron Age period and not the medieval period which came much later.

During the Iron age and chinese Spring and Autumn period, Xinjiang is ruled by the Xiongu

These are likely the "mongols" shown in the film.

That Tocharian girl is a slave, which makes sense because the Xiongu are also slavers.

Only agreed with that part. Plus Turkics were not in the area at the time.

Tocharians lived in Xinjiang during the Iron Age before being destroyed/assimilated by Uyghurs in the medieval period.

Modern Uyghurs descend from medieval Uyghurs and Tocharians.

I mean, they literally were.

Xinjiang was ruled by Xiongnu, then Han, Turkic Khanate during the Tang period then Mongol Yuan and then Manchu Qing.

Xiongnu, mongols and manchu are turkic, the OG ones.

So we agree then.

Of course. Iron Age was Tocharians.

Medieval period was Uyghurs, which is long after Conan's time.

Scythians (Thulsa Doom's people), Sarmatians (Valerra's people), Cimmerians (Conan's people) were long gone by the medieval period.
