Basically, no peace deal is over going to happen, nor is the violence going to stop, since there are literally tons of militia factions, clan disputes, warring, unless someone is going to make them give up their weapons. Literally hundreds of clashes and killings occur every year between clan militias over disputes that would normally be settled in court in western countries.

Of course I am aware Abu Sayyaf are not MNLF or MILF. The region has more problem with Muslim terrorist than Christian Militia. Nevertheless, we can always argue such scums "got nothing to do with Islam".

It has a problem with the Philippine state using the violation of the Bates Treaty to occupy Moro and Lumad lands in Mindanao and flood them with tens of millions of Visayan and Luzonian Christian settlers.

And the current Philippines Republic derives its legitimacy from the Philippines Commonwealth under the American colonual rule.

The first Philippine Republic never controlled Moro lands. It was the Americans who conquered both the first Philippine Republic, and then violated the Bates Treaty to conquer the Moros, and then it bequethed the Moro lands to the Philippine Cmmonwealth with the 1935 Constitution, in violation of the Bates Treaty.
