China's Fifth-Generation Fighter Could Be A Game Changer In An Increasingly Tense East Asia

By Jeremy Bender 1 hour ago

China is in the process of developing its own native fifth-generation fighter to compete with the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, and Russia's T-50.

Although China has been secretive about the exact specifications of the aircraft, experts are warning that the plane could be a game-changer in East Asia's potentially fragile security environment.

China's Chengdu J-20 is currently in its fourth round of prototypes. On July 26, the most recent version of the fighter flew for two hours before successfully landing.

Information about the J-20 is limited, but an unnamed Asian government source told IHS Jane's that upwards of 20 J-20s could be deployed by within the decade.

SO can China make a good car engine now ?? if not, then how can u make a good engine for even 3rd fighter
Yes , we may can not make a good car engine. But we can make ICBM /space program etc.

And those fighter use Russia engine. If they use CHina engine, then its only for training, not for fighting in real battle :coffee:

We r talking abt 5th gen fighter here, not ICBM or space program .

China 5th gen fighter is just a waste project.

China can even make a good car engine, so, no hope for even 3rd gen China fighter.

China have only 1 choice: keep buying fighter from Russia and hope there is no kill switch chip inside the engines.

BTW, enjoying your first negative rating.

Your primitive jungle country can't even produce a single component of the aircraft, yet you have the gut to make fun at a mature air power like China.

I do really appreciate your courage, but this courage is based on the sole ignorance. :coffee:

The Russian engine looks smaller and more compact than Chinese one. Does the shape of the engine affect much the aerodynamic of the airplane?
