Berlin forces EU satellite operator to take RT’s German TV broadcast off air
22 Dec, 2021 08:33

European satellite operator Eutelsat has removed the 24-hour German-language RT DE channel from its platform under pressure from Berlin. RT has called the move illegal.
German media regulator MABB (Medienanstalt Berlin-Brandenburg) has forced European service Eutelsat to remove the broadcast of RT’s new Moscow-based German-language channel RT DE from its 9B satellite on Wednesday.

Have seen "free religion" in EU countries, like France or Poland. Now we understand what is "free press".

India is quite a backward, irrelevant country which can have no shame in bragging about their "free press" and doing exactly the opposite, but now even Germany follows the path of India.

I remember when UK cut Iranian Press TV satellite signal in January 2012, in the context of Hormuz strait tensions, when USA sent 2 aircraft carriers to Hormuz, and UK, France sent warships to the zone.

The first move before attempt to trigger a war.

You forgot to mention, that RT has no license.

Germany is merely doing what it is being encouraged and pressured (yes, at the same time) to do from Washington DC. While the UK has strongly aligned itself with the US, France is the only EU country that has some semblance of autonomy when it comes to foreign policy, since it has its own independent defense industry.

Berlin currently has no appetite for war. It is most likely just paving war to ban all Russian-owned channels in their country. This is the maximum that the Germans will go when it comes to war; they just have a far-left Chancellor whose immediate focus would be fixing issues at home first before making any international moves.

Wrong, RT has no license in Germany and did not ask for it. Itsbgerman law thatnthey need a license. If RT wants one, they should respect german law.

How did they even get to broadcast without a license? Isn't that the first thing when you apply for a satellite channel in a new country?

They tried it via serbia which has a license for EU, so basicly tried to get in via backdoor to circumvent german law.
