Cheraman Juma Masjid mosque in Kodungallur in the Indian state of Kerala. Believed to be built in 629 AD by Malik Bin Deenar, it is considered as the oldest mosque in India, and the second oldest mosque in the world to offer Jumu'ah prayers. Constructed during the lifetime of Muhammad, the bodies of some of his original followers are said to be buried here.Unlike other mosques in Kerala that face westwards this mosque faces eastwards.

A view of the mosque at Palayam, Trivandrum, Kerala, India as seen from the Police Stadium grounds. The Martyrs Column that honours those who sacrificed their lives during India's freedom struggle is on the left. Not in picture and behind the mosque is a Hindu temple. Similarly, towards the left but not in the photo is a beautiful Christian church. These are symbols of the secular nature of India where we have always respected all religions and cultures but, as Mahatma Gandhi once said, we refuse to let any one of them blow us off our feet.

The Rajarajeswara temple is a Shiva temple located at Taliparamba in the Kannur district of Kerala, South India.
The temple is regarded as one of the existing 108 ancient Shiva Temples of Kerala. It also has a prominent place amongst the numerous Shiva temples in South India. If any problem is encountered in the other temples of South India, the devotees seek a solution in this Temple through a prasna, a traditional method of astrological decision making. The prasna is conducted on a peedha (a raised platform) situated outside the temple.
Nobody really knows when the Rajarajeshwara Temple was built. It was supposedly renovated by Sage Parashurama long before the Kali Yuga commenced. Several centuries ago it was renovated by the Mushika (Kolathiri) Dynasty Kings. The quadrangular sanctum has a two tiered pyramidal roof, in front of the sanctum is the namaskara mandapam but the temple has no kodi maram (flagstaff), unlike other temples in Kerala.

MALAYATTOOR CHURCH, KERALA, INDIA

Holly church of St. Thomas at Malayatoor hill top, its one of the most ancient Church in India.

Located 52 kms from Kochi and standing 609m high is Malayatoor Hill. It’s a very famous and holy pilgrim in Kerala, the footprints of St. Thomas are engraved in a rock, which is protected here.

St. Thomas is believed to have landed in Kerala at Kodungallur (Cranganore) in AD 52. Oral tradition says that while travelling through Malayattor, faced with hostile natives, he fled to the hilltop where he is said to have remained in prayer and that he left his foot prints on one of the rocks. According to beliefs, during prayer, he touched a rock, upon which blood poured from it.
