Did you not know? The Pakistani soldiers left a stick up all of their population.

It is kinda unclear on what their rankings are based upon but definitely not on operational experience but it might be due to the numbers, current and future acquisitions, budget etc. IMO, Pak & Israel should be ahead of Brazil and if nukes aren't taken into account, DPRK shouldn't even be in the top 30

Regarding this thread, Bangladesh will be in 3rd place because Sri Lanka is the only country that comes close to the firepower of B'desh if operational exp isn't accounted for since SL fought against LTTE

The whole thing is total BS. Singapore, Denmark rank below us and Nigeria above. Doesn't that say everything? Even the number is incorrect. We have more than 340 artillery and 120 ships but they say it's 89 ships only.

Not sure if upgraded T-59 are in service.
but in towed artillery there is no modern piece. There isn't any 155 mm artillery towed gun (correct me if wrong).
An amphibious Tank, could probably be trialed to check its suitability in BD terrain.
There is an absence of a dedicated gunship, which is a major drawback for BD Army.

Yep upgraded Type 59 Durjoy is in service and more are getting upgraded. Army plans to buy 8 attack helicopter initially. They issued tender for more modern light tank for newly established Ramu and Patuakhali cantonment, 105mm towed and self-propelled artillery, 155mm towed artillery and amphibious tank. Kaplan MT might win the light tank tender and looks like Type 05 amphibious tank is only sole contender in amphibious tank tender.

Very true.Although we have been improving, we're nowhere close to our true potential.BD should have a goal of becoming at least one of the top 20 conventionally powerful military to counter rising threats from Myanmar & India. It has the manpower. The economy is on the right track. We only need the resolve & visionary, competent leaders with spines.
BD air force can easily have 80+ J-10s and 30+ EFTs or 50+ F-16s and 25+ EFTs or 50+ Gripen and 30+ SU-35s .. This will be enough for Myanmar and Very hard target for Endian …..
BD navy can have 8+ Type 54 Frigates and 2 Type 52D destroyers with 10+ Coverts and 5+ Subs .. this will be enough for Myanmar and almost enough for endian navy ..
BD army 400,000 strong with latest tanks , ifvs , afvs , Spgs and other goodies …… Overkill for Myanmar and can easily take required lands from endia …
Above 3 only need will ………… You guys already have resources ……. but time is running out ….. Start investing 1 billion $$ on each branch of your armed forces (total 3 Billion per year) for next 10 years ……
Till 2030 you guys will be in top 20 and will have your original status in Nations around the world..
And dear bro , war with endia is also coming for BD …. BD members don't think about it …. Your location , Your growing economy (wealth) and poor defense capabilities will make you sanghi RSS next target …. You guys are lucky endia is busy with Pakistan , please use this time and build your capabilities ..

these are likely to be the most advanced frigates in the whole of S Asia
This is what I will never agree with you ,,, Just look at endian navy Frigates and Type 54s which Pakistan Navy bought..

So, send it now and see if your martial race troops can land one soldier on our beach. Last time we were without arms but fought to break your teeth, this time we are ready with arms. We will not let IA to take prisoners this time.

Better, let our two armies fight in a neutral ground. You will see the results. Do not get jealous, please!! Do not you see how important is our military in the UN missions as well as in the ME?
Martial race does not refer to group of people who are more capable of fighting than others. People of this subcontinent have a habit of beating drums when it comes to identification of martial race.

Martial race is a British term used by the colonial British imperial army. Martial races are those races who were fiercely loyal to the British crown, thus were considered as good for fighting as British soldiers.

Before the Sepoy rebelllion in 1857, Bengalis, Marathas also formed a substantial number of the British soldiers. In fact before 1857, anyone and everyone could join the British army. However after the 1857 rebellion, the British stopped recruiting anyone and everyone due to trust issues, especially from the Bengalis and Marathas, as they were the main conspirators of the 1857 rebellion.

So, after 1857 the East India Company dissolved and the British government took control of India. Of their many policies one was the martial race policy. This policy was that the British army would recruit soldiers from only some races who are known for their loyalty in order to reduce the chances of rebellion like what happened in 1857. The martial races were mainly Gurkhas, Pashtuns, Punjabis, Sikhs, Jats and Rajputs.

So, in short, the martial race is not something to be proud of instead it reflects your pride of being a British slave, that's it.
