End the use of refugees as leverage
We are not using them, we serve them for 40 years and now we are sending them back
Diversify transit routes
We tried but you start firing at us wheneever we want to improve borders and build roads.

One thing i dont understand whats your logic behind this that you claim taliban comes from quetta but still you are oppose to border managment and your warlords starts firing at workers but they come to senses after we put the fear of GOD in them.

Interesting interview. No trolling please. You gotta give it to Ashraf Ghani for reaching out to the main powerhouse in Pakistan aka GHQ, but alas for the region they didn't reciprocate.

Key points.

1) End the use of refugees as leverage
2) Diversify transit routes
3) Build institution

:) very good Interview. Please read completely. Ghani is found contradicting ownself at many points in this interview.

The crux is Pakistani is important for Afghanistan so please remove the colored glasses and try to see things transparently.

No Ghani. Time has run out now. Open your own doors because we are going to be repatriating a lot of Afghans. No amount of convincing is going to change our mind anymore.

What are Pakistans expectations from present Afghan government ?
Should they surrender to the taliban ?
Stop all relations with India ?
Practical answers please .

We don't expect anything. It is done and dusted.

Deal with the following facts:

1. A closed border;
2. Repatriation of all Afghans from Pakistan.

There are going to be no ifs and buts anymore. We are going to do it our own way.

after his behavior in India, i doubt Pakistan will even give him soap to wash his face.

1) End the use of refugees as leverage

We never used refugees as leverage. What concessions did we get as a result of them? Simply, after years of extensions we are done, and are sending them back home. You lot should have been prepared long ago instead of running around like headless chickens.

2) Diversify transit routes

We tried to bring more trade, but you blocked it. In fact in this article Ghani is bragging about stopping trade between Pakistan and Central Asia, and is 'proud' that trade between Afghanistan and Pakistan is reduced.

We favour good relations, we offered you $500 million in development aid, but you refused it like the idiots you are. On top of that, when we try and construct border constructions, you try and stop us with shelling and firing. How are we going to stop "Pakistan sponsored terrorists" going into Afghanistan, when you wont even allow us to construct a fence?

Expectations are: Good friendly relations, stable flow of trade, recognition of the international border, not exactly too much to ask for is it.

I like many other people couldn't care less who's running the show over there, whether if it is these loonies or the Taliban.

You people need to get out of your head that everything Pakistan does is to be "anti-india", we don't care about you lot at all. You are not our biggest threat, and are not even in our priorities as a nation. Even PML-N's mandate during the election made little or no mention of India at all. If you want relations with Afghanistan, Iran, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, whatever. we don't care, just don't try and use these countries as a means of operating against us.

Alongside Kabul embassy, Those 4 consulates in Herat, Kandahar, Jalalabad and Mazar-e-Sharif, are for what purpose? Are there really that many Afghans needing to visit India and vice versa? We are not idiots, we know what you people are up to.

Where is he contradicting himself? Basically he is calling spade a spade. Pakistan is important for Afghanistan no doubt, we are immediate neighbors so start acting like one.

To start off, not firing at our soldiers when we build a simple border post. The whole world including India recognizes the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan as legitimate except the chest thumping jingoists sitting in Kabul (https://www.thenews.com.pk/print/127757-Afghan-forces-fire-at-Torkham-again). The fact of the matter is Afghan nationalism is inconsistent with the existence of Pakistan as a nation. Given that Pakistan is not going anywhere, Afghanistan is doomed to keep shooting itself in the foot unless it gets a visionary leader who can change their view on what it means to be an Afghan citizen. Many of us were hoping Ghani was this man, but unfortunately he has proven to be weak and/or Afghanistan is such a decentralized country now that regardless of Ghani's actual view he has to take into consideration the view of other power brokers who hold intensely anti-Pakistan views.

As far as the Taliban are concerned, Kabul actually has no problem negotiating with them (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/oct/18/taliban-afghanistan-secret-talks-qatar). After all the Taliban have a political office in Qatar. Kabul's problem lies at the end of the day with the existence of Pakistan, and their inability to reconcile with this new reality. So to start off, Afghanistan has to recognize the border between us and them.
