Anniversary of Babri Mosque Demolition Today

Illiterate Hindus destroyed the mosque foolishly believing in the myth of a temple to have existed there. Hindus that do believe in science and archaeology themselves have argued against the existence of such a temple and the theory that Babar ever demolished it for this mosque is simply laughable as the mosque was build a few years before Babar was even born, let alone to have invaded India.

The destruction of that mosque is not at all justified ..It will remain a permanent scar in the image of a secular India..And i don't know Babar destroyed Ram temple or not ..All i know is according to Hindu texts Ram was born in Ayodhya

Fair and lovely use karo. Please keep religious slogans off this forum.

my late father who did some research on this issue as a history lecturer would agree with your statement about the mosque being in existence before the birth of Babar. some measure of religious hyping made the hindus believe that the mosque was a built on a site which contained a Rama mandhil.no proofs of this exist. close away from the mosque is a shrine to Lord Rama and some believe that the shrine is the cause of the confusion since the records refer to the shrine as a "temple". in the search for a temple the hindus could only come up with this story of the masjid being the only site where a temple could have existed. rumours became truth in the minds of the hindus and the masjid was demolished which is a shame since it goes against the true policy of hinduism

Ayodhya is a big place... It's not just one spot on a hill.

I know Asim what i meant that probably some body twisted all these facts and started a rumer just like flicker mentioned..I mean religious fanatics are everywhere in the world and there are people to listen to them also ..

In most of the destroyed temples in india ( Gujarat, Khajuraho etc )
the invading Muslims like Babur, Aurangzeb destroyed most of the time the entire temples.

However later they implemented an easy trick. As Hindus don't traditionally offer prayers in a broken/destroyed temple, they just broke off part of the temples, heads and lega of statues, the hindu entrance doors, the top(sikhar) of the temples, so that they can destroy the maximum number of temples and deprive hindus from going into them to offer prayer. In some of the places all the temples are partly broken. They thought that hindus will not be able to offer prayer and start converting. Specifically they were destroying temples at the important places like Ayodha temple complex.

They perhaps never new that there is always a small temple in almost every Hindu home. May be in the backyard, in small rooms etc. In modern days you will see even small temples inside cupboards in home.

Those who thought that they can destroy our faith by rampaging the beautiful temples since centuries have been proved wrong.

The act of destroying one's religious places is definately a scar on the secularity , civility & freedom of expression of any country . The demolition of the babri masjid is definitely a kind of curse on our country.( The shram sevaks who were going to aid building the temple were burnt alive ,due to which Godhra occurred and their was further damage to the securality of our nation).

Yes Babur & Co. were not saints rather they were maniacs of the worst category but then we cant take their barbarism as an excuse to cause some of our own.An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind and I am preety sure that many religions teach the same more so because of me being a Hindu I know the kind of tolerance levels we have for any misdeeds. Its difficult to forget the past and maybe because some of our neighbours want to live in the past that they havent made the same kind of progress that we have made. Lets try and move on .

As far as building a temple or a mosque at babri site goes then why doesnt the gov try to build a temple,a mosque , a church and every religion that is in india at the same place. It will be the testament to the securality of my nation and an ever reminder to all the people that We Indias may make mistakes but we learn from them in a way that no-one does.

Jana conveniently forgot to put first two major events.

In 12th century, a temple complex is built in honour of Lord Ram.

In 1528, the Babri Mosque is constructed on the orders of the Mughal leader Babur post destruction of existing Ram Mandir.

no one gives a damn about these remarks... this is just another flaming statement meant to gain the lost support from the hindus.... jharkhand election...

Ram Janmabhoomi (Hindi/Devanagiri: राम जन्मभूमि) is the "Birthplace of Rama", a major figure in Indian history and avatar of Vishnu in Hinduism, where archaeological excavations by the Archeological Survey of India, found a massive structure, presumably of a Rama temple, lying beneath. The exact location of Rama's birth is not stated with any specific accuracy by the Hindu texts, but the term popularly refers to a tract of land in the North Indian city of Ayodhya. The prevailing viewpoint is that prior to 1528, a temple stood at the site. This Hindu temple was demolished or dramatically modified on the orders of Mughal Babur and a mosque was built in its place. This mosque came to be known as the Babri Mosque.

Do not come with wiki false information.

Besides the myth about any ram temple has already been debunked by archaeologists. The Indians should accept the fact that deep down they hate Islam and Muslims and just putting the word Secular can not wash away their hate for Muslims.

Bah who cares about a mosque or a temple? These are irrelevant to anyone with a brain. The only thing that matters is justice for those who died in the riots that followed afterward.
