Indian Airforce (#IAF) has issued an indigenisation requirement of near 600 items used in its #Russian origin platforms .

This would potentially cover the delay in spares in future considering Russian - Ukraine War & boast the localisation efforts as well.

Already IAF has worked on a strategy to use French, Israel, Localised Assets / Systems mixed with Russian tech.

On one side it may create integration issues - Yet on other side it opens door for modernisation with induction of European tech, non dependence on single source and diversification with local content for self reliance.

MOD today signed a contract with BEL, Bangalore for procurement of 13 Lynx-U2 Fire Control Systems

Indian Army's equivalent to IACCS of #IAF A contract has been signed worth ₹1982 crore with BEL Bharat Electronics Limited .

The Automated Air Defence Control & Reporting System will integrate all air defence assets of Indian Army & monitor low level airspace over battlefield.

It will have capability to communicate & work together with IACCS of IAF & in future will pave way for creation of effective integrated air defence of India.

Indian MoD signs ₹19,600 crore contracts with Indian shipyards for India Navy as under :

1) 11 Next Generation Offshore Patrol Vessels


The contract for 11 Next Generation OPVs was signed with Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) and Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata at a total cost of Rs 9,781 crore.

GSL will be responsible for indigenous design & manufacturing of 7 while 4 by GSL by GRSE. September 2026 will be the delivery commencement.

2) 6 Next Generation Missile Vessels

A Rupees 9,805 crore contract of six Next Generation Missile Vessels (NGMV) was signed with Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), with delivery starting March 2027.

NGMVs would be heavily armed war vessels incorporating stealth, high speed and offensive capability.

The ships will be capable of conducting Maritime Strike Operations, Anti Surface Warfare Operations and sea denial for enemy ships especially at choke points.

Space Mission Venus :

The mission was expected to be launched in 2024 and expected to reach #Venus in 2025. Funds were released in 2017 to complete preliminary studies, but due to budget availability and delays in maturing technologies, this can possibly push the mission by 2031.

The mission was announced in 2017, and since then, the @isro has been working on developing the spacecraft and its instruments.

In additional news related to Space -

Indian Army to get it's own satellite in next 03 years, as the MoD signed a ₹3,000 crores deal with NSIL for an advanced comm. satellite, GSAT 7B, for the army.
