But i was just going through the release conditions and their is no timeline given for release. Lot of false information that release has to be in 7 days , etc.
The pow has to be released as soon as possible after cessation of hostilities. But since no formal war condition existed, and hostilities are ongoing on the LOC from the last 3 decades, Pakistan had a lot of leeway in interpretation of cessation of hostilities.

Would have missed a chance to capitalize diplomatically. Beside he had no use for us, as compared to Kulbushan (A fighter pilot vs a spy sent for terrorism, you know retaining which one serves our interest best).
