5 Largest Ethnic Groups in Pakistan

So you are saying people converted for a title? Really?
No, people converted to Islam because of the same reason the Arab pagans converted and the same reason people are converting to Islam to this day.

If I gave you a title, will you convert back to Hinduism?
You're really not getting the point. Once you drop your previous Hindu names/idendity - you'll need a Muslim name and surname. Just like how Muhammad Ali changed his name and surname to fit his new religion so did many Hindu converts to Islam did. Many high-caste Hindu converts changed their surnames to Arabic/Persian to signify their previous status such as Sheikh (meaning Lord, elder or religious scholar in Arabic).

Some tribes changed their caste-names to Muslim versions.

Pakistanis should first decide who they are and why they converted.
We are Pakistanis and Muslims; that's who we are and that's who we'll always be. I and many others here did not convert to Islam - our ancestors did; just like every single non-convert Muslim out there. Islam is a religion built by converts.

On one hand you people claim that Pakistanis are lower caste Hindus who took Islam to get away from evil Hinduism while on the other hand claim that Pakistanis are racially superior Tall & fair skinned people and have nothing to do with short and black Hindus of India.
That was one false-flagger Indian who claimed that; no one else. We don't care or talk about "racial superiority" at all; it's you Indians who obsess over it and constantly bring it up.

Lower-caste Hindus are almost all South Indians by race (Dravidians); maybe in South India it was possible but unlikely in Pakistan.

We are a mix of different people
Nope but a title was given after conversion

Nope we dont we love beef and right to divorce

We are the natives of this land and with a lot of folks with lineage from other regions we are the mythical Pandits that disappeared they went nowhere

A large portion of low caste hindus converted to Islam that is a fact and also hindus of all castes and even sikhs converted in large numbers all over punjab there are shrines of sufis who were born sikhs

The question is Did people covert for the Love of Islam or Hate of Hinduism?

Don't you find ridiculous nature of these contradictory statements..

I am not sure you are being serious here, no where did I say they converted for a title. I merely stated that they converted by Sufis since you asked why they converted. Also the posts here of saying Pakistanis are lower caste Hindus was actually a sarcastic to reply to a false flagger who pops up to repeatedly call Pakistanis dalits etc.

Because Pakistani are all Dalit converts.

@dadeechi Case in point.

It means most Pakistanis are local converts. Because Arab ethnic groups are totally different. They mainly include Syed, Qureshi, Qazi, Ansari, Sheikh etc.

The question is, what is Hinduism in the first place?

"Hinduism, as a faith, is vague, amorphous, many-sided, all things to all men. It is hardly possible to define it, or indeed to say definitely whether it is a religion or not, in the usual sense of the word.” [Jawaharlal Nehru, The Discovery of India, New Delhi, 1983, p.75]

“Frankly speaking, it is not possible to say definitely who is a Hindu and what Hinduism is. These questions have been considered again and again by eminent scholars, and so far no satisfactory answer has been given.” [Swami Dharma Theertha, History of Hindu Imperialism, Madras, 1992, p. 178]

“Hinduism defies definition… It has no specific creed.” [Khushwant Singh, India: An Introduction, New Delhi, 1990, p. 19]

“The more Hinduism is considered, the more difficult it becomes to define it in a single phrase… A Hindu may have any religious belief or none.” [Percival Spear, India: A Modern History, Michigan, 1961, p.40]

Lower-caste Hindus are almost all South Indians by race (Dravidians); maybe in South India it was possible but unlikely in Pakistan.

Technically, it would be these Indians who would be considered 'lower caste', due to their ASI levels.

India has 15% sikhs/punjabis in its army when 2% of their total population is punjabi.

That is considered ethnic chauvinism. They consider Sikhs/Punjabis a martial race and therefore they are disproportionately represented in the armed forces.

And btw @Talwar e Pakistan , you should've made it like Punjabi, Potohari, Pashtun, Saraiki etc. rather than starting off with Pashtuns and then focusing on Punjabi baradaries. And Zia was an a**hole, should've used someone else for the Arains.

But the way I see it the general population does not complain about it. We always claim about Punjabis being the main force in Pakistan army.

india has simmering ethnic tensions, but many have lost their sting because of ethnic states formed earlier. Their states like are mostly based on ethnic composition.

In Pakistan, every ethnic group should be represented in the main stream. Their cultural heritage must be protected and should visible. A rainbow looks much better, otherwise its just white light.

Well, then the majority of them are ok with racist/biased recruitment policies.

Punjabis form the largest component in the army here due to their numbers, they arent disproportionally represented or anything. Even among them, it is the Potoharis who form the biggest component.
