China mobilizes over 100 warships for S.China Sea drill

I hope we all can cooperate to ensure Freedom of Navigation. Welcome to join us, China. :)

LOL bro you are trolling again ... come on my old PDF friend ... :-)

China is far from perfect, we know that and are working progressively on it, but as a responsible member of the international society we definitely will defend freedom of navigation. Modern days Japan has been a great country, JMSDF is one the best navies, just hope her politics would choose the right path and ensure peace!

We need to do a MASSIVE military drill which involve land, sea, air, and space military drill together to test our capability in defending the motherland.

Does China even have 100 main combat ships? Or is it going to be a few principle ships along with fast attack crafts and support ships?

Yes, I suppose so. PLAN altogether has around 130 main surface combatants in categories including DDG, FFG, corvettes, amphibious (LPD & LST, LSM not included), AC (training). The underwater fleet comprises of around 70 submarines, like SSN, SSBN, SSK, etc. These 200 ships are main combatants of PLAN.

Then there are smaller combatants like LSM, missile boats, sub chasers, mine countermeasure vessels, total around 280.

And the auxiliaries totals more than 230 (combat support e.g. surveillance, hospital, logistics, oil tankers, submarine tenders), excluding many non-PLAN operated support/logistics vessels.

Hence PLAN currently operates over 700 ships, though the scale is still quite modest but deployment of 100 to SCS can be handled.

Here in Manila, I can hear the intense cries from my fellow filipinos and vietnamese brothers.
Do you see me, too as I'm pissing in the sea right now?

As long as you don't violate our maritime domain you can do what you like, even 365 day long drill. Wasting money and resources. Even killing all the fishes with your ship guns. But don't forget to collect your garbage when you leave.

China serving main combat ship contain: 1x CV16 + 6x 052C + 2x 052D + 2x 052B + 2x 051C + 2x 052A + 1x 051B + 4x 051 + 4x Sovremenny + 22x 054A + 2x 054 + 30x 053H + 22x 056, current surface warships already close to 100x ... and 70+ subs (type035,type039,type041,type093,Kilo etc) ... also 100+ missile boats (type022 etc).:coffee:

But still lack enough numbers of AESA DDG like 052D & 055, next years building more air-defense destroyers.

How many AESA DDG do the Japs have?

Current serving PESA (AN/SPY-1): 4x Kongo-class (SM-2 missile), 2x Atago-class, future will build another 2x Atago (SM-2/3 missile).
serving AESA (FCS-3): 4x Akizuki-class (ESSM, plan for SM-2 missile)

So currently they have 10 AESA DDGs?

HA

That was actually quite good. You should relax and have fun more often instead of being so surly and bitter all the time.

Akizuki-class should compare to 054A Frigate, the number of T/R units of its tiny AESA radar is too little.

We are using 60 wooden ship and 40 paper boats to perform the drill.
