Sit-ins induced political awareness among the masses- Asma Jahangir

It is true that people like SMQ, Jahangir Tareen, Azam Sawati, Sheikh Rasheed etc have no place in PTI, and it is also true that they'll do everything to hijack PTI BUT one thing has become evident, for bad and for good, that PTI is IK and IK is PTI. Which literally means that IK has the power to send these people to hell (if and when needed) just like he did to Javeid Hashmi. Now I don't like this because I believe that PTI must not become into personality cult like other political parties, but unfortunately this is what happens in Pakistan. It will perhaps take a couple of decades for the democracy to take up roots and become mature enough IF it continued.

This is correct. But the issue is more to do with the possibility of manipulating the internal dynamics of the party when it will come to implementing party's reform agenda.

Most of the PTIs manifesto is not directly threatening any group specifically since PTI's focus is on institutional building, regulatory bodies and accountability. As long as PTI's leaders are not corrupt, there is little reason to believe that they will cause any hindrance in the way of implementing the accountability agenda. Similarly institutions and regulatory bodies do not directly threaten anyone specifically even though their indirect impact is great.

However, the issue will prop up when IK decides to implement the taxation policy by increasing the agriculture tax (rate/base) and the corporate tax rate/base). If many of the PTI's leaders belong to the wealthy elite, there will be a lot of manipulation to make sure tax agenda is not implemented. Similarly, the protectionist trade policies - somewhat justified - will find more resistance than what may be termed 'justifiable.'

Yes Sir, and that is why I have maintained that a meaningful change will never come in Pakistan through electoral process. These feudal, industrialists, Mullah, judges, civil and military bureaucrat are well dugged-in and they'll resist change and fight tooth-to-nail. We should not forget what happened with Bhutto and his socialist agenda, and something radically different is not going to happen with IK too.

humain appon ne mara gehroon main kahan dam tha

yeh kasti wahan doobi jahan pani kam tha

dedicated to qadri sab

In a way it beneficial to PTI look at the bigger picture ...

agreed. that is why PTIans should maintain a staunch opinion about too many of old guards joining the PTI. It is impractical to say that none of them should be allowed to join but a perception should be maintained to hinder their advances as much as possible.

HRK Bhai apnaa @Oscar said that he isn't a Bihari and I feel he isn't an Hyderabadi or a Memon either 'cause hes too big of a miser to have descended from the Hyderabadi Aristocracy and he is far too big a spendthrift to be classed as a Memon; so what other ethnic groups form the larger Urdu Speaking community ? :unsure:

And please can you tell me some stereotypes about them so that I can get even with @Oscar for his constant targeting of us Butts ! :mad:

Achaa waisee on a serious note what do you guys prefer to be called :

Whats the most acceptable term for the people who's ancestors came from what is now India to the areas that became Pakistan when the country was created ?

@dexter @Secur - You guys chip in aswell ! :)

must have to do with the elections of the SC Bar to be held on the 31st of Oct (as per the news report). Otherwise she is one of the very same ppl who have been opposing PTI and its dharna on every front.

Now that's most valid point raised in this thread so far.

Imho, Real political awareness began after 30 october 2011 Jalsa in Lahore. She is just being diplomatic in front of a Anti PML-N crowd.
