Breaking news: Tejas SP-1 had its maiden flight

wat abt MK 2 . does it also require ioc 1 , 2 ,foc .. if so wat s the use of getting mk2 after 2022 ? if it is delayed ?
Mk2 will be quick like dhruv to rudra to LCH!! (Just hope)

No video just news, if it was Pak Airforce they will give a detailed video, why so secrets, secret for the fear of what, tha some might copy it. HaHaHa.

Look aerodynamically inferior as the pilot pod is sticking too high.

why do we need a video this is not the 1st flight of Tejas

it is 1st flight of SP1 ac

Tejas has completed more than 2800 test flights it has flown in Air Shows also

there are no secrets as such

but till then we will get more su 30mki and super sukois right ??? how many more sukois will join iaf in 2-3 years ? Why dont we but 40-45 Su 35 ? India can afford it .It can be placed on indo tibet border

we are getting 60 more Su30 mki

and some 40 Super Su30MKI

though negotiaitons are underway to get the whole 270 Su30MKi upgarded to Super Su30MKi standard

we dont need Su35 the advantage is only in radar/engine which can be easily upgarded in SUper Su upgarde

if we want we should take Su34 fighter bombers 120 Nos

When we ll get 1st batch of mk2 ? Plz can u tell about rafale 1st batch ?

design freeze for Mk2 has been done
now design validation will take place
then 3-4 or even 8 PV/LSP will be built
should happen by 2016-2017
which will be given for trials / evaluation and certification
once it enters certification cycle (IOC1 IOC2 and FOC)
production will start (IOC2 config then FOC config)
should happen by 2018-2019

New Delhi: State-owned HAL and DRDO today carried out the maiden sortie of the first LCA Tejas aircraft produced for the Indian Air Force by them in Bengaluru.

The aircraft named 'Series Production 1' would now undergo a series of trials under the Acceptance Performance Tests
before it is handed over to the IAF, DRDO officials said here.

IAF plans to have four such aircraft in its Bangalore-based Tejas squadron before it starts evaluating them and approves it for final operational clearance, they said.

The IAF has ordered 40 LCA Mk 1 aircraft and is likely to induct five more squadrons of an advanced version of the aircraft being developed by the DRDO and HAL.

The aircraft had received initial operational clearance last year and has to get the FOC in next few months before it
starts operational flying.

The aircraft was being manufactured by HAL in partnership with the DRDO over the past several years, and the programme has been long-delayed and has seen several cost and time over-runs.

HAL has so far built seven LCA aircraft for trial purposes, which have been used to determine the final configuration of the plane to be given to the IAF.

let me you guys in on a personal secret of life, i practically have lived by it since boyhood..

Why does a rocket fly ?

It flies cause it has got tonnes of white fire under its good old bottom.

have a good one. on this occasion i would recommend you to try out sarai express, a vodka which is pretty good.

Air intakes seem to be narrowed once again. New Redome will improve aerodynamic and hence improve the performance of Aircraft.

Tejas mk2 will be directly produce as final production version as per DRDO officials. It means directly to FOC standard. As per them Tejas mk2 will take to skies either in late 2016 or early 2017. The FOC process will require 2 years and the aircraft will be ready for mass production in 2019. With little delay it may be 2020. A satisfactory timeline as delivery of 40 Tejas mk1 will take place till 2019. Thereafter Series Production of mk2 can start.

As it is upgrade over Tejas mk1, it will not require that stringent tests and 80% of the parameters for mk2 has already been tested in mk1.

Did it fly? :)

That is their requirement for IOC. This is why Jf-17 gets in operation before weapon trial and many more...

Whom you are trying to fool here??
In the initial years PAF claimed that JF17 can fire BVR missiles but no video was released.
PS-India is very transparent when it comes to these things, soon a lot of pics and videos will be released.
Look aerodynamically inferior as the pilot pod is sticking too high.
So you can tell the aerodynamic perfomance of a plane just by seeing its pic??!!!! Holy shit dude:lol:
