Trophy APS intercepts Kornet missile fired from Gaza

@500 can you please post a picture of trophy system an explain how it works?
1) There are 4 AESA radars which scan 360 grad around the tank. When they detect incoming missile, they calculate its trajectory and if its going to hit the tank they launch the countermeasure.

2) There are also 2 rotating countermeasures (1 on each side of the turret), which fire explosively formed projectiles towards the missile and provide 360 grad protection.

Example of test interception:

Combat interception:

RPG-29 round approaches the tank:

Trophy activated, RPG-29 round explodes in the air:

Destroyed RPG-29 round continues flying towards the tank (u can see that in test interception as well):

In which state the AKKOR is? any information about this system?

Two companies bidded , One is Aselsan, other one is Otokar

SMM evaluating companies' bids since August 2013....other than that we don't know what is happening in the back stage...

I thought that, Tubitak might have been involved....

Cabatlı, once i mailed Tubitak, and wanted info about the ongoing tenders..

They said that there are 3 types of tenders.

1-) Tender infos are open to public.
2-) Only RFP is open to public. After RFP, project is classified.
3-) Classified projects.

Maybe, this one is 3rd type of tender.

yo 500 can u tell me the speed of mk4 coz in wiki it says something like 65 and when i had joint training with them i asked the tankers and they told me it was faster than that :O

always wanted to be in armor but ended up in infantry ._. ur old brigade which is now infantry

Hamas was not pushed into the war, hamas started this war.
They kidnapped and killed 3 Israeli children. Not content with that, they then started massive rocket attacks on Israel.

It was only after this that Israel decided to respond.

Secondly, you are again wrong on the logic of 'why this operation is a failure for Israel'. Tell me, do you know what happens when if one US military pilot is down and a whole bunch of soldiers go and try to save him. The result is that many more American soldiers get killed while saving the one pilot.

If your cost-benefit is simply on the number of Israelis killed then you are missing the big picture compeltely. The Israeli military action is intended to convey that Palestinian actions of killing Israeli children and rocket fire on Israel will not go unanswered. That Israel will not silently sit and watch while Hamas keeps firing on Israel. This would only embolden the terrorist groups to try more and more to kill Israelis.

Ofcourse more Israeli's would die when they undertook military action, but the result would be far more devastating for Palestine and Hamas. And that is what Israel wants. To assure everyone that they will not sit by if they are attacked even if some lives are lost in the process.

Sometimes its better to shut up if you don't know anything. The three Israeli children weren't kidnaped by Hamas nor it has been proven. Also they were kidnapped in West Bank, Hamas isn't present there nor does it have any control over there. The rocket fire was started in response to the Palestinian boy kidnapped and beaten.
