YF-23 (Black Widow II): will KSA go for it?

I can't find anywhere that says KSA is looking into the YF-23 specifically. Can you show me exactly where it is, in the article?

Also, the original was a prototype of a viable design, during that era. Times have changed, and a redesign would likely lead to drastic enough changes, to say that it isn't even the same platform.

Again, it simply doesn't make any sense for KSA to do such a thing.
I was answering you request for KSA building its domestic aerospace industry..

The Idea of the F-23 feasibility was an interest of some Saudi think tank, so I brought it here for discussion..

I guess there was miscommunication here.

I wouldn't take such a thing seriously. The project is dead, and unlikely to see any revival, no point in bringing it up.

Well, read post #25, Where it said in 2015 (that is 2 years ago!) that Northrop Gruman wants to revive it to base its 6th generation US fighter on the same design we are discussing..
This is why I take it seriously..If KSA government wants it.. and there is an if there as you can notice..
The Idea was brought up in discussion following thorough analysis of KSA requirements for a 5th Generation fighter.. Maybe all that can change and KSA will be happy getting the F-35 or even Pak-Fa or the Chinese J-20 (which is not for export either)..

Saudis can buy blueprints from Americans and develop their own.

That is an Idea incorporated in the general idea of getting the design, because in such big endeavours one needs an experienced partner for training, setting up the plants, making parts and know how for maintenance and flight techniques and technologies, and the US can be a winning partner in such an endeavour..

Again, don't take such news seriously. There is no real indication that such an event would ever occur.

These companies are years ahead of anyone in the world, they are already working on a 6th generation design, and in the next 10 to 15 years there will be a 6th generation US fighter.. So why not take the article seriously..When be it the USN or the USAF look ahead to their new requirements 20 years ahead..
Obviously, there is no concrete indication that KSA will go for it, that is why there is an interrogation in the title "Will KSA go for it?"
Anyway, I am glad to hear your opinion, because it is the aim of the thread..

Usrael stole the F-16 and the Mirage 2000 designs and pretended to have built its own Lavi fighter.. both the US and France were not happy with it and Usrael was threatened to lose all kind of weapons and other aids, so it had to shelve it.. you just can't compete with someone (even a "friend") on world markets with his stolen design..
