Protests in Canada should be bigger

'Not a bull fight, this is a fight with Delhi': This pro-jallikattu video wants to 'tame Modi'

The video protesting against the ban has been made by Chennai-based People’s Art and Literary Association.

The ubiquitous notes of the horn associated with the Indian Premier League are now being used in a video that protests against the ban on jallikattu, Tamil Nadu’s bull-taming ritual. Made by the People’s Art and Literary Association, a 30-year-old culture organisation based in Chennai, the video features scenes from bull fights, footage from the Una protests, and Spanish bullfighting to make a case that the government has been “anti-Tamil” all along, according to Kannaioan Ramdoss, editor of the organisation.

The official description of the video: “This song exhorts the supporters of jallikattu to understand the ban and the deliberate indifference shown by the Modi Govt towards this issue, in the context of Sangh’s contempt for Tamil culture and NewDelhi’s disdain towards Tamil Nadu.”

There have been widespread arrests in Tamil Nadu for attempting to defy the ban.

In the past, Kovan, a singer from the group, had been arrested for composing a song against the J Jayalalithaa administration’s liquor policy in Tamil Nadu.

I thought this thing was caused by Supreme court?

Isn't supreme court responsible for this cockup?

The problem started when Jairam Ramesh inserted Bulls into wild animals (done secretly) meaning they must be protected under law when lots of other notifications were passed in 2011. For next 2 years Peta and other groups were silent. And they started after 2013 telling its illegal under law. Then the problem started.
Last year NDA removed Bulls from wild animals through an ordinance, but others got an stay order in SC and pending ever since. But the thing is NDA govt had a full year to modify the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal act and pass it in Parliament. Which it never did nor the political parties belonging to TN. Its political as well as judicial.

PETA dare not to speak against a sickular religions for mass slaughter of animals. A PETA woman was beaten up just for asking sickulars to celebrating thier festival without mass slaughter.
Since they belonged to sickular religions, liberals kept silent upholding the sickular values of India, even though liberals and PETA go togethor very well. But these same liberals could not hold themselves back seeing a random video on internet and tried making these protests look anti-Modi.

Yeah just did a quick google translate, Cos you didnt bother to post it in English.. Anyway doesn't prove it was practiced by Lankan Tamils, But there is going to be some sort of a show of protest against the ban in Jaffna in support of those agitators in Tamil Nadu most likely by some separatist elements according to that post

Honestly just referred this to some Tamil colleagues, Seems like Jallikattu has never been a cultural practice among Lankan Tamils
