What's new

Muslim Punjabi Tribes and their origins

Also fun fact unlike Ramays, Ramdays are'nt a sub caste or tribe of Arains. How do I know that? Well let's just say the maternal side of my family had a big hand in educating & bringing up these guys about 4 4½ generations ago. Seeing their current shenanigans, I wish my great grand nana hadn't decided to help his poor 2nd cousins out who belonged to the village of Ramday in east Punjab.

We might have to exchange emails.

NA Ramday means Lancers same as Rattay means furious red eye infantry soldiers like Karadaar or teerandaaz sub casts of Arain.

Sapals are GudSawaar.

we need to know that from where all these words are coming from i mean from arabic language or turkish or persian language pls dont tell me these words r in urdu or in punjabi then i guess whole theory will go down these words either shold b in or related to persians ( as it was a common language at the time of mughals and before the mughals in india), turkish (especially chugtai turkish spoken by mughals) or something from arabic ( as if perceived that arains are arabs then these words must have also been corrupted from arabic)

Sialkot was founded by an Arain under Tughlag. The city was originally known as Aspalkot. Aspal mean kohra.

You guys will know who that person is If you know the Sufi saint that is in Sialkot.

No they are known by their family names but when new people in this region came people gave them name by their military professions.

Some says by RAja Salu and most of the historians agreed on that, Sialkot or Salu qot invaded by Tuglak wh send Arab Mujahids under the command of Imam Ali Al Haq and war was fought on street..even toay you can see Shuhdaz mazar on very narrow streets dated back centuries.

arains were not new to the region when the lodhis and mughals came they were living there for like 400yrs or more prior to their arrival if you start counting from Mohd. Bin Qasim time till lodhis :).... your theory lacks too much bro

Dimagh ka dahi mat ker read history.
Tareekh e Arainyaan,

I don't think there is such a thing as sikh gujjar or maybe not many at all. Now days gujjars in east punjab are nomadic muslim gujjars who move there from IoK and are actually gojri speakers.

Gujjars exist among hindus but they are found in cow/hindi belt and are culturally different from punjabi gujjars. To me gujars are interesting people, they are found in northern areas as well who are till today semi-nomadic. Northen gujjars look different then ones in south AJK and Punjab. And hindi gujjars look different then punjab gujjars.
I think there has been a lot of mixing in Partihara-gurjara period with other invading parties from Bacteria and Syncithia. There is a sizeable Gujjar biraadri in Sikhism not as much as Jat but a good number.

Duuuude I don't think Kashmiri "Dogars" exist.

If you're talking about the "Dogras", then they're a different ethnicity.

Don't mean to rain on your parade, but the Great Gamma is of Kashmiri descent!!!
I think you are right, eventhough Gujjars live in Kashmir too but most likely he was not Gujjar.
