No one can Say till its the time
Real war isn't some paper exercise
Where you put your stats and show the winner

Thunder is a capable fighter but many of you people seem to forgetting few things
India Pakistan air space It will give less reaction time to each other

Most of the work will be done by Awacs

If it's a drag race or who can fly for longer duration but
Which planes would be able to do more softies in war time require less maintenance
With Aesa block 3 and better ew it becomes a really really capable small bird these birds will act as area denial weapon system and other weapon system will be used for in depth attacks

Against the mirage 2000 the indian Mig29 and the hindu SU30 how effective is the JF17 vs the above

PAF is confident about JF-17 and thats what matters. They will fly it so if they are confident, we should be too.

Otherwise you can debate all day abc VS xyz, you wont get anywhere.

Block 2 can deal with every fighter plane India fields, the problem might come from the SU-30 due to its radar to a certain extent, since JF-17 has low RCS, it will be detected at 200 km at best not 400 km and that is where BVR comes into play, but the danger rises from the SU-30 payload as it can fire two different types of missile on each adversary plane.. JF-17 blk 3 will have a longer range AESA radar as well as some sophisticated EW suites like wild weasel tech and others.. but not to forget that India is also getting the Rafale which should be dealt with by the J-31..

1. Believe PAF looks to induct the Su-35.

2. Beyond the ethics / politics of the war, Yemen-Saudi conflict was a grand opportunity to test the JF-17 in actual combat. Would have indicated areas for improvement. Also a good idea for marketing.

The JF17 is a better plane than every Indian ones except the MKI. In the real world v the MKI

1) In the air defence role; with BVR and AWACs support, it has a giid chance, enough that operators skill and tactics become an issue.

2) In the deep strike penetration escort and attack role versus the MKI it has problems These can be alleviated to an extent by using standoff weapons and good ECM (stand off) support, but yeah iffy

3) In the "contested airspace over own troops"? Skill of the pilot, whether its an Su30 or a JF17. BVR matters less here.

All in all any Indian threat is manageable until Rafael hits service.

Better than the Mirage 2000-5 Mk.2? Better than the MiG-29UPG? Better than the Rafale? I don't think so.

There is not a thing to suggest the JF-17 Blk.XX would outclass any of the above, let alone the MKI in a 1-1 fight but fortunately for the PAF this is not how most engagments will take place and their defensive posture will create specific tactics that will aid in evening out the qualatative disadvantage they face.

Not very good, but if those upgrades on the Block 3 are what people say it is - then it should be good.

The PAF does need another aircraft tho, and getting the J-10C or J-11D from China is unlikely.

Still think we should get some F-35's....

In recent flair up of hostilities, JF17s have been deployed on FOBs conducting day/night caps over Pak-Ind border. According to someone who is aware of the developments, they have been "harassing" whatever IAF is flying across on the other side, including the SU30s.

SU-30 has been fielded against jf-17. You always forget that what you have China has. And JF-17 is a joint production of China and Pakistan. Don't you think that jf-17 has not yet been tested against these planes. Don't live in fools paradise.
So if you test your Mushaks against F16 tomorrow. Will the Mushak beat the F16?what logic is that? If China was so sure of JF17 capabilities it would have inducted them in significant numbers..but..but they just sold it to you and made money.
