Vladimir Putin slams Turkey for shooting down Russian warplane near Syrian border

Putin should just unleash those Super Sukhois on turkey and take revenge.

No nato country is going to risk their countries security for a rogue muslim country. It is going to be all helpless turkey against the angry bear.

17 second case is bullshit. We warned russians before 45 km out from our borders. And they come 1 km near we still keep warning. ''This Turkish Air force guard change your route'' And they are keep coming. They are violated our airspace 4km one time and we still warned them. But again one plane violated the border 4km and our pilot fired the missile. Missile catched russian plane inside of Syria because our fighters shot him from 60-70 km away.

I actually agree with that. If someone was in your backyard, you asked the guy to leave 5 times and he still lurked around your yard and ignored your warnings. I'd pull the trigger.

So Turkey even owned Syria airspace now too? LOL

The Russian got multiple warnings. 10 times!

How can they be so ignorant to ignore the warnings? If Turkey didn't do what they did, I think the Russian would just walk over them. That was just a slap to the face. I'm not surprised.

NATO stood firm to support Turkey on that argument.

This is similar to the Chinese hacking the US. They also gave China multiple warnings. I wont be surprise if something major would happen to Chinese network if they don't stop.

LOL.

Russia pilot was carrying out normal operation which post no threat to Turkey. At best, Turkey can claim Russia marginally cross over their territory (about 4km, 4 miles). In those short distance, that take about 17 seconds to crossover by a Su-24. Look at the MAP! Turkey then shot from behind a Su-24 which already out of Turkey and on its way to carry it mission in Syria.

Imagine yourself as that Russian pilot who don't speak a shit of Turk language and you are call to carry out a bomb mission and your plane flying in the air at fast speed and you heard someone say on radar that you don't understand, especially your POV is that you carry out flying in Syria airspace at the time, why should you head back?

If this is how rule of sky works from now, then you better hope your Vietnamese aircraft never cross over to our sky, NOT even one inches over whether intentionally or by innocent passage, we will chase to make a kill. LOL

You can always carry out your normal operation without violating someone's airspace after not just one warning but multiple warnings. It's a no brainer.

You sound like a loser already from that bolded comment.

A plane flying at fast speed and in the air, you wouldn't know where you're at until you look at the radar. Flying in the air is not like driving a car that you can see the road. That Russian pilot simply got murdered by an overreact Turk who think they now owned Syria Northern airspace. That is the problem!

You really don't get it. What does multiple warnings mean to you? one? two? This doesn't happen just today. It has happened before and before that. The 10 warnings that Turk gave the Russian is not just today but it occurred before that. Why is that so hard to understand?

If someone warns you when you are flying in Vietnamese airspace at the time, do you give a shit about that warning? Think logically, my little Vietnamese friend! LOL

How about you go to Texas and do that on someone's property. Logical doesn't defeat the reality that you lack. Don't be so ignorant and butthurt because you can't back up your argument.

LOL This is why everyone laughs at you Vietnamese. Let me give you another analogy. Let say you are a Vietnamese pilot (Russian pilot). You are invited by your friend India to fly freely within India airspace. You carry out bomb mission to kill terrorist in India. We, China as Turkey. You fly in Northern/East area of Indian airspace close to our border. We warn you 10 times while you were flying in Indian airspace. You fly across our boarder side by 4km, we then chase and shot you down in Indian airspace. Do you think that is acceptable? I have to use very basic common logic to educate you Vietnamese on this. LOL

More for you Vietnamese to learn...

Was Russia warplane downing an overreaction?

As it happened: Russia warplane shot down in Syria
There have been several incursions by Russian jets into Turkish airspace since Moscow's air campaign in Syria began. Turkey has also shot down Syrian aircraft that intruded across the border.

Ankara has championed its tough rules of engagement, and so nobody could have been in any doubt that if combat aircraft strayed into Turkey again, they might receive a robust response.

But this episode is a little more complicated than that.

Of course, the two sides' accounts differ. Russian President Vladimir Putin insists that the aircraft was not in Turkish airspace and was actually shot down over Syrian territory.

The Turks say the aircraft was warned about entering Turkey several times, and, when it did not change course, was shot down.

The problem is that according to a radar map released by the Turks themselves, the Russian Sukhoi could at best be described as crossing over Turkish territory.

It flew over a small piece of Turkey that projects into Syria - a tiny isthmus of land that would have taken the fast jet only a few moments to fly over.

So if the plane was shot down, as the Turks say, after entering Turkish airspace, you could equally say it was downed on the way out of Turkish territory too
.

There is of course a back-story here as well. Russian air power has been assisting recent ground attacks by the Syrian army against Turkmen militia forces in northern Syria.

These groups are backed, and to some extent armed, by the Turkish authorities, and Ankara has taken a very dim view of Russia's air strikes against them.

So did the Turks overreact to a Russian incursion? Or was Ankara itching for an opportunity to send a robust message to Moscow?

Either way, Russia and Turkey are not at war, and despite some tough rhetoric, especially from Mr Putin, this episode may ultimately be put down to experience.

However, it all comes at a very delicate moment and it highlights once again the complexity of Syria's multiple conflicts.

The downing of the Russian airliner claimed by the Islamic State group in Egypt last month, and Moscow's onslaught against IS targets appeared to suggest that Russia, the West and the moderate Arab States were coming into alignment.

But as the Russian air attacks against Turkmen positions show, Moscow is still intent on bolstering the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad against some of its other opponents, whatever may be happening on the counter-IS front.

Turkey is deeply hostile to the Syrian regime and wants to see the back of Mr Assad as soon as possible. So in this sense, it is at loggerheads with Moscow.

Turkey, like Iran, the Saudis and the moderate Arab states, all have a stake in what kind of Syria emerges from this crisis - as, to an extent, does Russia.

The US and its Western allies do not much like Mr Assad and see him as very much part of the problem, but their main battle is against IS.

These two wars - the struggle for Syria's future and that against IS - overlap to a considerable extent, but they are far from being the same.

The Turkish downing of a Russian jet is a reminder that there is a lot more going on here than just the counter-IS struggle.

Let's wait and see what will happen, chill down.

Wait a minute.. Why did you warn them 45 km away?? or is it 4 km? Even you know that they are in war with radical lunatics on the ground and within few meters away from your border, you should had helped them instead of warning....
When you shot the missile (some videos shows you shot it from inside syria), did you ask the missile to drop from sky at Syrian border or it should go and hit target inside Syria? Now if Russian aircraft start firing missile from within Syria at your way, what will you do, go and cry to uncle SAM or NATO who themselves aren't happy with the incident. Believe me those NATO members need Russia more than Turkey to start with. Its no more cold war and Russia is not Soviet Union.

Who's laughing at me? you? I could careless because you're so ignorant that you laugh at your own stupidity. This isn't about Vietnam or Indian and Russian. This is about Turkey and Russia. Your argument has nothing to do with the real story. You made up garbage to defend your own stupidity just like the South China Sea. Look at the picture below before you make yourself look more ignorant than ever. You tell me if the Russian didn't cross into Turkey. Not just once but many times before. Get rid of your pathetic ego, it is making you look more ignorant than anything. I really think you have problem with reading comprehension.

Don't get me wrong. I don't hate the Russian. They did the right thing bombing ISIS but I'm not saying they can't be wrong either.

I have to use an analogy to explain to you Vietnamese because you lack knowledge of engagement in international dispute. LOL

Anyone with half a brain can look at the map and tell easily that Russian pilot flew majority of his time in Syria and just so happen to fly across Turkish airspace which is about 4km across (took 17 second to cross for a fast jet) and Turkey chased down and killws the aircraft in Syria airspace as if Turkey owned Syria airspace or something. LOL
