SURPAT Camouflage:
SURPAT is a four color digital camouflage used by Russian special forces, police, presidential guard, and FSB. It is designed to work effectively in woodland, desert, mountain and urban environments. It features grey, green, black and brown. It was developed by SURVIVAL CORPS, Ltd in co-operation with units of Russian Special Forces.

In the Jungle:

In the Australian Outback:

Now this is what I call "Camouflage" as opposed to the American UCP which actually highlights their soldiers like this, making them Sniper fodder:

another similarity, It looks like my grandmother couch.

It honestly looks like they saw TV static, Decided to screenshot it and call it camouflage.

Another one of my favourite "Tarns" is the German WW2 era Splittertarn:

I'd go for this Camouflage over any "Modern" "Camouflage" which is a hue change of TV static.

There has been a lot of activity in the combat uniform patterns these days, but it all began with Canadian CADPAT pixelated camouflage pattern, which rewrote the rule book for combat patterns. US army seems to have really developed their combat patterns after their experience in Afghanistan.
But the best camouflage (in my opinion) belongs to the Russians who got inspired by the WWII "German" reversible camouflage style, the summer & autumn pattern. ...

Pretty smart aren't they.
I remember a C++ program back in school days which drew fractals. Looking at the patterns on camouflage, it reminds of the same and as @Yazp has posted in some pics, it is quite deceiving to eyes.

I forgot to add that I find the Australian camouflage a little funny... I hope it works for 'em.

You may not know, but I am an avid camo collector, I will show you some of my collection from around the world next time when I have some time.

@levina
Wow!!!
I thought you must be busy so I deleted the tag.
Do show us your collection. :)
Btw I collect only camouflage like T-shirts. :ashamed:

I have a big interest in Military uniforms and Equipment.
I have Gorka-4 and the 6Sh92. (Both Russian)
and Multicam fatigues and trousers.
Pakistan marines need to change their camo when they go out for foreign exercises

Here they stick out like thumbs on the shore

True these guys need something more original, Which doesn't look like a person paintbucketed the US Woodlands camo with a shade of Ugly bright blue. I bet those Marines must be laughing at our marines, Wearing that camouflage and using MP5s to storm a bloody beach...

Something similar to this?
Camouflage generator
This is a handy tool when it comes to texturing camouflages into ARMA

What do you guys think of the new-ish Russian EMR camouflage?

Looks nice, in my opinion. At least for Woodlands and Russia it's nice.

Isnt this the same reversible ones that I was talking about???
Btw did you know Russian army had 9 levels of dressing???
I'm assuming they have so many layers because they have to face harsh winters in Russia.

I always thought my dad looked cool in combat dress with hidden pockets, and so many extra pockets here and there. Now I realise that camouflage is not about being looking nice or cool, because beyond a point camouflage uniforms dont help you. Some say investing so much in camouflages is waste of money since terrorists usually have the best camouflage, for example Taliban's camouflage is that they dress like the locals and 're difficult to track, nothing can beat that.

I found American army to be most innovative when it comes to camouflage, like this pic where the soldier is dressed in battle dress uniform to blend in with Afghan soldiers. Does he even look like an American??? :)

Hehe, the picture you had attached was actually a variant of the Russian "Partizan" pattern rather than the newer EMR. I think it's really rare:
chimera_partizan-m_partizan.jpg

Funny how the Russians are still using the 6B4 bulletproof vest from Afghanistan era with a newer camouflage and it looks "Modern"
(You can recognize it from anywhere with those two "blocks" sticking out)

I start my collection from holding a Canadian Force soldier at gun point demanding his CADPAT uniform (That actually did happen lol), then migrate to a cross spectrum of European Camo.
