Mysterious buyer of JF-17 THUNDER BLOCK 2

Good job to both countries. Let's be very clear, the JF-17 has GIGANTIC export potential. It just remains to be seen whether the US would like Pakistan and China to take over a large part of the low-end fighter jet business. Heck, even Russia. Nigeria would like some to fight Boko Haram. Iraq would like a few to bomb ISIS and many developing Asian nations could use this top-quality affordable jet. Anyways, congrats again!

I'm confused as to how this benefits Pakistan. We will pay China to build these and then sell it forward to Bangladesh? Why can't China sell it since it's a joint venture and them sharing our part of profit?

Not to mention we are asking China to build most of our jf17 because our production capacity isn't as big.

Anyway, 14x30= $420m going to our exports, it will help rupee, grow our gdp as well. I hope we can sell more because a few of these can really help stop our net exports being negative.

Why isn't Pakistan's production capacity being upped? I mean there are a lot of export customers in the wings for this aircraft. As to why Pakistan sold these and not China, perhaps it's to not overtly anger India? Either way, good deal for Pakistan's exports and military industry. I think you'll see Nigeria buy two dozen of these, Argentina is going to buy and perhaps even Iraq in the near future.

Pakistan has produced 25 last year and 25+ this year,PAC has got new land in Sindh they may start a new production line.

I understand. Their defence needs are quite simple so I guess Thunder should do for them :D

Pakistan has kept this in mind that it would go for certain percentage of share in Thunder project as till now PAF requirement is may be 250 plus aircraft. But after that aircraft would only be produced when needed (which might not acced 2,3 or may be less aircraft per year) and when an export order comes which would mean that the whole set up would just lie idle when there is no order. Which further implies to loss of man hours and money.

So in that case make x jets a year for next 10-15 years but make them in Pakistan, to grow our economy and create jobs instead of letting China build some 200 for us. After 10-15 years we can be looking at building another jet or helicopter.

Unless we're in super rush to replace aging fleet.

Please let us know what school of economics that you went to so that we should not send our kids to that institution.
Dear Sir thats what the PAC guys told me when i asked them regarding upping the production lines of K-8 and Thunder.let me ask them which school they went to.

Why are we buying from China? Why not build them all in Pakistan? Was it some agreement that certain percentage has to be bought from China?

Even if we do but from China at cost, we ignore the fact that we're losing jobs in the end.

Sir i am as much interested in these activities to go to new heights as U are. Its upon MODP to decide and who knows they go for it in near future.Decisions do change with time.

If you want some enlightenment, which I got yesterday about FC-1.

Open the baidu, search the FC-1/JF-17 and use google translator.

Hi,

So---by producing 250 thunder aircraft----Pakistan has saved itself almost 8 to12 BILLION DOLLARS----. By that time time when you are done producing the thunder for yourself----you will still have orders trickling in---. You already have a trained staff---you will switch them over to new ventures.

Just like the mirage went into mirage 2000 and then into rafale----.

The process of learning to manufacture an item like an aircraft is a wealth in itself that is priceless---. It puts your engineering and manufacturing capabilities at a new plateau---and it is good for the mind and good for the BRAIN as well.

A sense of achievement is an aphrodisiac in itself---ask the Indians----they got an eternal hard on working on this LCA for so long.
