Indian Railways vs. Chinese Railways...

It's like I say, the wire has current, but you say let me experience. And then you get a shock. IR is aware that, HSR is NOT profitable. The operating cost is very high and who will pay for this? You want subsidy even in that I am sure!

You have money, you will travel but only to experience, but IR is not running on the money of people like you, but lower middle class people from villages.

And FYI, our all engines are capable for operating at 190km/hr, but the tracks are not as compatible with them. I have done my project on IR. I am in favour of upgrading track to operate at 190km/hr maximum not beyond that.

When you book your air ticket in advance, the tax does not get reduced.

Duronto is there from intercities, and they operate at 120+km/hr , what's wrong in that? You can increase their speed to 150km/hr. And FYI, Chinese High speed rail is not to connect cities like Changsa and Nanchang. For that they have normal operating trains. You want Rajdhani in every city? Well from Bangalore to Madras, a Shatabdi can be proposed.

Stop trolling for the sake of trolling. It is clear that you have never ever been in a super-fast train in your life, not even on a metro, or you would not have been giving these extremely idiotic logic.

WHO says HSR is not profitable? People who were used to traveling in 3rd class shitty railways would also be opposed to an All-AC train like Rajdhani. The same Rajdhani you are singing praises of here. The cost of Rajdhani ticket is much higher than 3rd class railways. You know that? You say 1660 rupees is cheap for 1600 km. Have you heard about Waiting List in Railway tickets, have you heard about "general class bogey"? Have you even been in a train in your life? People would cut a waiting list ticket for a sleeper class railway coach or board the general class bogey because they think paying 500 for a 1600km journey is too much money. And you are saying 1660 is cheap?

Why build Rajdhani train when you can travel to distances of 2000 km in sleeper class at rates of less than 1000 rupees? Building an All-AC Rajdhani is too much money and people "will not enjoy" the ride. That is your effed up logic.

People from all classes travel in trains, but a person like you who never been inside a train all his life you won't understand.

If the government does not have money then let private players build. The Delhi government does not pay subsidy in Delhi metro you fool. Don't talk like a retard if you have no clue about the topic.Everybody from blue-collar professionals to street-hawkers use the Delhi Metro. It is fast, it is comfortabe, it is affordable and the stations are world-class. But buffoons like you will have a problem with that because you don't like modern and improved things.

You are not an engineer. Your logic says you are still in high school.

People like you are the excuse-mongers. They cannot come up with something nice and good so they romanticise their failures. Shame on you.

Chinese had been enjoying 300km/h high-speed train now ... when Indian ?

I do not troll here, just provide a truth for our reference.

I live in germany and here the trains operate at 160km/hr, the ICE operate at 200+ km/hr and that's at peak, not throughout the journey.

Rajdhani operates at 120km/hr and Shatabdi at 150km/hr , their speeds can be increased to 190km/hr and that will be more than sufficient.

When you speak about HSR, like bullet train, you have no idea what exactly you are speaking. The ticket will alone cost more than 5000 rupees one way, in economy and around 7000 in 1st. It is good for 500 - 800 kms journey not beyond that. And not in every route. Only selected ones like Delhi Chandigarh Jaipur ; Delhi Meerut Dehradoon.

In other words you can replace shatabdi with HSR. But you cannot replace rajdhani with HSR, because that's some other class of train. You may increase the speed though. As they have certainly done b increasing little more.

Not suitable for us. Like US does not operate any high speed trains. We can go max 200-230km/hr but that's also too high. I am in favour of not more than 190km/hr if we plan to build.

Oh wow!! You live in Germany and you want all the amenities and luxuries of the first world country but your fellow Indians living in India must continue to remain in despair and poverty, right? First-world infrastructure is meant to be enjoyed only by you, Indians living in India can remain stuck in the 1950s.

And when did Indian Railways contract German enginners for their projects?

Rajdhani operates at 120km/hr and Shatabdi at 150km/hr , their speeds can be increased to 190km/hr and that will be more than sufficient.

No they cannot. India does not have such engines to sustain speeds at more than 190 km/h or else such trains would have been at service. And it does not make any economic sense to run 190 km/h engines at 120.

When you speak about HSR, like bullet train, you have no idea what exactly you are speaking. The ticket will alone cost more than 5000 rupees one way, in economy and around 7000 in 1st. You have no idea what a bad troll you are. Your arguments against Bullet trains are the same 15 years ago against the Delhi metro or the Rajdhani express. People like you are either scared of modernity or you yourself live in a modern country but want India to remain backward. Hypocrite!!

Are you aware of metro fares? When the metro was proposed it ran into thousands of crores in expenses to be build. Yet the metro tokens at the start were sold for mere 5 rupees to 8 rupees. Slowly the metro expanded and the fares increased but the people were happy because the services offered in exchange for the fares was more than impressive.

It's a good thing you are not an engineer, you lack common sense.

In other words you can replace shatabdi with HSR. But you cannot replace rajdhani with HSR, because that's some other class of train. You may increase the speed though. As they have certainly done b increasing little more.

Ask @AndrewJin to educate you about railways. Your logic sounds even more pathetic than that of lalu prasad yadav.

Why so many stops? wht's the operating speed? 190km/hr?
Again, PLEASE do more research before commenting! Changsha and Nanchang not Connected to HSR cause they have old lines? What?
There is 200-250kph Shanghai-Beijing one line, so no Shanghai-Beijing HSR? Or after building s new one then demolish the old one?

FYI, Changsha has 330 HSR services and 164 normal overnight trains tomorrow. 207/144 for Nanchang.
I am really doubted about credibility of your railway article if that's how you do research.

My train is D class, max. 200kph, why so many stops? Is that a question worth being asked? Are we living a nation where only Shanghai and Wuhan exist?

A big country like India should need high-speed railway system, to reduce down transportation cost.

Just think spending 6~7x hours from North India to South India, carrying millions of Indian passengers and tons of goods through HSR each day ... it will boost India economy very well.

This is not u said "Enjoy a travel by the train ", it's economic efficiency compete with the time.

WAPs are capable of pulling the train to 175 -180km/hr. It is not the engine but the track system which is not capable to hold.

You have no idea what a bad troll you are. Your arguments against Bullet trains are the same 15 years ago against the Delhi metro or the Rajdhani express. People like you are either scared of modernity or you yourself live in a modern country but want India to remain backward. Hypocrite!!

.

Lol I am an electrical engineer and I know how engines work, and I am fully aware of the capability of IR. I am in favor of metro and its expansion to atleast 100kms.

But I am not in favour of super fast trains in India. Of course you can bring the tracks, so that they can be operated in future to save oil but not at 300km/hr. But in the next 50 years, we can operate fast trains.

Those millions of passengers are not willing to pay high price for travelling why are you not understanding this, no one will pay 7000 rupees for one way sitting 9 hours in Train, they would rather catch the flight. Fast trains are good but super fast trains. NO. That is the biggest problem and hence no government in centre approves the project.

but when you are travelling at 200km/hr and suddenly you apply breaks to stop after 20 minutes, well that's high wear and tear. That is what my engineering experience tells me. You actually do not need HSR to connect small towns.

Only if the commuters are high then it makes a statement to develop a halt for HSR.

G class is better than D.
My train is waiting in Changzhou North for 11minutes , letting other trains and even following trains go first! Let me cry for a moment...

Just now, some G trains were flying thorough this station at 250-300kph, my heartbeat!

Germany is a developed nation, but Indian not , China not too ... we eager for quick development with cheap cost.

It is not that, Not every one travels on super fast trains, but fast trains. I am in favor of fast trains not super fast trains. 190km/hr max

For people who travel in 3rd class sleeper coach of sampark kranti, Rajdhani is overkill. There are states in India where people for years have been boarding trains without tickets. For them also Rajdhani is overkill. If people like you were policy makers then Indian would have continued to remain a 3rd world basket.
What is your personal problem if India builds 400 km/hr train? Why does India have to follow foot-steps of Japan and China? Why can't Japan and China follow India? Why is that every time India has to look at others for inspiration even though India is one of world's oldest civilisations?

WAPs are capable of pulling the train to 175 -180km/hr. It is not the engine but the track system which is not capable to hold.

For argument's sake let us assume you are right. Fine, your argument holds water. Now explain me you troll do track repairs and replacements take place or not? If you are born in India you would remember railway tracks held together by wooden planks, now they are replaced by iron. If improving tracks brings better railways then what is your fcuking problem? Are you paying from your own pocket?

Lol I am an electrical engineer and I know how engines work, and I am fully aware of the capability of IR. I am in favor of metro and its expansion to atleast 100kms.

Yea, you are an electrical engineer and I am the dean of the college where you studied engineering from.

But I am not in favour of super fast trains in India. Of course you can bring the tracks, so that they can be operated in future to save oil but not at 300km/hr. But in the next 50 years, we can operate fast trains.

Do us a favor and never return from Germany.

Who told you that? Rising inflation will any way bring up costs year after year Mr. "Electrical Engineer". That Chinese guy has a point. Faster travel will have an overall positive impact on economy with faster and easier movement of people and goods. But you are still a high-school kid and you are yet to understand basic things about economy.

And please explain how you came to a conclusion of 7,000 rupees ticket fare.

Me too, just curious ... which microprocessor usually used in ur work ?

Last January, i took that 300km/h CRH from HeNan province to GuangDong province through 1,900km ... cost 700 RMB ticket price ... cheaper than airline's 1,100+ RMB ticket but expensive than normal train 500+ RMB ticket.

Whatever still much faster than normal 200km/h train, and only add 200RMB cost.

It will go in loss. That's my argument. Please see the building the project - operating cost per day for these rails. And then come up. We can even have 578km/hr Maglev, but it is not required. As the profit generation is less than operating cost bhai.

The rail traction system and the track needs to be developed for high speed, 190+ km/hr well , and for super high speed 200 + km/hr much more than that.
