Do you even know what "comparing apples and organges" mean?

Some Indian posters are a bit too "emotional" when it comes to any criticism, even if the criticism is a valid and constructive one.

Thanks for the post. Indian railways have been improving at a sluggish pace but the picture clearly shows there is a lot of room for improvement. India needs to upgrade its facilities if they want to be among the best in the world.

India is setting up Railway university and is also planning to modernize Railways.

Railways always played important role in integration of India and this sector will be modernized.

Indian Railways are offering good services to people of India. There are various nations that are willing to share tech.

Japan, China, Germany and other European nations are willing to form JVs. Once India gets the tech. India will venture into countries to execute similar kind of projects.

The time line is expected to be 10 to 15 years when all the developing nations start investing in HSR's. By that Time India will make significant progress in this regard

China cannot build HSR in Africa or S.Asian countries except for small regions, similarly the same situation in developing ASEAN countries, But India can if we can develop infra firms within 10 to 15 years.

People who are going against India here are simply hurting themselves !

i agree that Indian railways need massive overhauling of infrastructure..but we are surely working in that direction.

another pic (this one is probably also from mumbai cst).

Privatization in gradual steps is the only solution for Indian railways disease.

Like Sri Lanka can afford chinese high speed super trains.
Look at pakistan railway, they get engines from china. And those engines SUCK..India produces much better and more powerful engines and coaches in low budget.

Sri Lanka can afford them, it's just that politics is involved - India insisting that it rehabilitates railways in Northern Sri Lanka so it can go "hey look at how we're helping the Tamils!" - never mind the shit Indian product

Privatization is a must. Unlimited funds and lack of accountability means sarkari will remain third-class.

No need for privatization, only JVs are needed. They transfer the tech. build it and India will get the tech and tecnological base to venture into other regions.

Shit India products ? You are not China dude.Stop being delusional that your nation can afford Chinese high speed trains.
Maybe some of our indian members can shed some light on the quality of locomotives produced by India.
And yes they are less costly
