Shia rebels 'seize Yemen city'

Saudi FM: If the 'coup' doesn't come to an end peacefully then countries in region will take other means

Other means? Like what? Yemen is a country of 25 million. It's too big for Saudi Arabia to invade directly.

Saudi FM: If the 'coup' doesn't come to an end peacefully then countries in region will take other means

Saudi FM can go to hell, if that's a 'coup', then what is Sisi's rule in Egypt which they are supporting by all means?

The world is witnessing hypocrisy of Gulfis (and the west). Although if they do anything wrong, they may get humiliated again like in 2009, against a far inferior enemy. Houthis back then literally had nothing more than Ak-47s, yet the results for Saudis were disastrous.

Houthi movement is a popular one with backing of majority of Yemenis. If that stooge, Hadi, is officially asking for foreign boots in Yemen, it means Yemenis should get rid of him as soon as possible, which will happen eventually.

Good point. If Saudis dare to send M1A2s into Yemen, Houthis would rip them apart with Iranian supplied TOW anti tank missiles. :yes2:

I guess Saudis see it as strategic threat and believe that an attack against them from Yemen is policy that Iran and allies hope to make happen in near future. That's what they fear, I personally don't know what's true.

So far they haven't entailed if military intervention will mean advisors, just assistance, no fly zone or boots on ground. If boots on the ground they will be successful most likely. As houthi manpower isn't many needed nor do they have proper training.

I still believe there won't be battle for Aden and political solution will be discussed. Yemeni pparties seem to be more rational than Syrian/Iraqi and dobt mind negotiating.

I think Iran should also send anti-aircraft manpads to Yemen. Just to deter saudi agression against their sovereign country, from the air.
Yemenis needs to work this out amongst themselves, and saudi should not meddle in other Arab affairs. lol

Mabpads aren't effective against high end jets. You need some serious anti air systems which is waste of money/effort. Effective ground weapons are what can change direction of conflict.

I say if Saudis feel strong and want to put boots on the ground in Yemen, then let them! They'll get bogged down and taken down one-by-one, by a ragtag, but battle hardened local militia. And that will drive home the price of this whole maximalist and high-handed Saudi attitude, both to the populace and the ruling elite.

If you notice, by contrast, Iran is very judicious in its use of manpower and resources in both Syria and Iraq. And that's because Iran takes a very minimalist approach wrt its interests in the region. Iran is not trying to run colonies in those countries. The local populace has the highest stake in the outcome of the events and Iran is just helping, due to common interests.

I can't exactly say why, but I do feel, we are going to see clash of titans, started.
Time is not passing in the favor of Saudis, Houthies are playing a chess game (maybe with the help of external forces) that will end to a reduction in probability of an aerial raid effectiveness from SA (or maybe the gulf coalition) by each passing moment.
As Yemen is the matter of a great strategical importance for Saudi Arabia, that will leave SA with no more than two choices,
Whether opting a boots on ground policy, which considering the population and size of Yemen, would most probably stay a never chosen option.
Or to start importing artificial rebels (or whatever you call them, jihadis, takfiries, wahabis, freedom fighters, ....) into Yemen trying to counter Houthi influence, which considering the SA's religious topography would be more like playing with fire.
So my two cents, whether this situation to be dealt with soon, or as I said, sit tight, we are gonna watch clash of titans, started.

what are the chances of KSA hiring a couple of thousand academi mercs to fight for them?

Yes Shia will attack Aden soon Ishallah. :victory:

And how does it helps you?

domestic jihad is ok as long as civilized world is safe from it . carry on and keep killing each other

You are living in safe world, which is also civilized, but why you always make joke of Islam?

You can't blame or translate Jihad as you deem necessary !

Sisi brought peace! If Yemeni coup can bring peace and prosperity than it can also be supported, but if goes out of its sphere of scope, then not.

Iran has no business in backyard of KSA. It only invites trouble and losers would be all Yemenis alike.

Houthis good. IS bad.

Good terrorists bad terrorists ?
