Pakistan’s greater role in a settled Afghanistan after the Nato withdrawal and denial of space there for covert Indian activities against Pakistan remains the focus of DG ISI Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar’s discussions in the US, it has been learnt.

Defence sources said that during his first visit to the US as DG ISI, Lt Gen Rizwan would share the details with Washington of how India is trying to weaken Pakistan from the western front by extending all-out support to the TTP.

The sources expect that the current visit of the DG ISI to the US following the recent visit of the COAS is likely to shift the balance towards Pakistan in the“A greater role for Pakistan in a settled Afghanistan after NATO withdrawal and denial of space to Indian covert activities remained on top of agenda,” a source said, adding that the DG ISI met senior officials at Pentagon, CIA chief, FBI and Homeland security.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif also visited US during November last year, where he held talks with senior US military commanders and defence officials. A visit by DG ISI, it is said, was on similar lines to work out modalities of the finalised plans discussed during COAS visit. It is said that during the meeting, US senior officials praised the Pakistan Army and the country’s intelligence agencies for their commitment, professionalism and achievement in the fight against terror as well as the ongoing Zarb-e-Azb operation.

It is said that the important issues that came under discussion include dialogue on Pak-Afghan issue and how the future will look like after the withdrawal of Isaf and US troops; Pakistan’s fight against terrorism entering a new phase after the December 16 Peshawar school tragedy and India-TTP nexus against Pakistan.

The sources said that NATO pullout from Afghanistan has seriously upset India which had invested a hefty amount to gain foothold in Afghanistan in order to destabilise Pakistan. It is said that recently the Indian nexus with Afghanistan based TTP against Pakistan has furthered and there are reports of Indian support to series of recent terrorist acts in Pakistan. “The intent is to force the international community to remain focused on Afghan issue and settle it in the best interest of India rather than Afghanistan,” a source said.

He is just ticking a box. US would never question anyone as long as the targets receiving the bullets are Muslims. Israel and India are two good examples,

The solution to Indian terrorism in Pakistan is not to gather international support but to fight our own battles. We don't want statements, we want Qisas.

I think we are barking up against the wrong tree. Telling US about Indian sponsored terrorism is just like Palestine complaining to US about Israeli illegal settlements.
US has vested interests in India, and they are not going to say or do anything that will upset Indians, why cant we understand this and come up with a different strategy. I use to curse politicians for following this outdated strategy of running to the US every now and than, but it seems army is doing the exact same thing.
Correct me but has anything achieved at all of these trips when they have further cut their assistance.

If i am allowed to rewrite your post, it will be like this ........

He is ticking a box. US would never question anyone as long as the targets receiving the bullets are not Americans. Osama bin Laden and Hafeez Saeed are two good examples........

And people expect DG ISI to give all proves in a press conference before going to US just for pump & show.. just like an IndianIndian Coast Guard Official was doing! :omghaha:

No idea what you said there. .You mean DIG has no proof?

The Americans know much more about terrorists in pakistan than pakistan themselves. .They kept warning us about possible attacks...even the boat incident was a warning from America...so DG is just making of fool of himself.

Just for the record, US already knows that India is the one financing the murder of over 50,000 Pakistanis at the hands of its TTP proxies. DGISI is not there to 'present proofs', he's there to gauge CIA and Pentagons position on India and how much they will be willing to look away when we start making Indians pay.

Telling US is of no use USA would do nothing but show all the proofs to India and then they'll know what things will get them caught and they'll make plans in future keeping that in mind.
best thing would be to not tell anything to uncle sam and realize this is our own matter and deal with these rats like they should be.

They won't agree to whatever we say, unless we lock them and their interests in Afg. I would say use our cards wisely and world will have to dance to our tunes. F**k what anyone has to say, they are playing foul so lets play foul.

The purpose of doing this... If tomorrow ISI strategy one blast in Pakistan in response X 4 **** blast in India, in case India always want favor from US like they're doing from past 10 years to question US president or govt officials to pass statement against Pakistan, So in that case they CANT! because Pakistan already handover Indian involvement evidence to US. US will relectant in that theory if they pass any statement against Pakistan, Pakistan start pressuring using in the same manner because they already handover Indian involvement evidence or intrude into Security council so American image will be badly fuckup when other party show the evidence of the party whom US favoring. Think from different perspective. Pakistan is playing game with US. US badly ******* btw India and Pakistan soon.

He will need a lot more than just standard Pakistani propaganda and crying wolf to push his case. I suspect he is just there to convince the US to let off pakistan on its terror network and trying to play victim.

Pak generals travel around more than their politicians do !
