DG ISI tells US about India-TTP nexus

Pakistan’s greater role in a settled Afghanistan after the Nato withdrawal and denial of space there for covert Indian activities against Pakistan remains the focus of DG ISI Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar’s discussions in the US, it has been learnt.

Defence sources said that during his first visit to the US as DG ISI, Lt Gen Rizwan would share the details with Washington of how India is trying to weaken Pakistan from the western front by extending all-out support to the TTP.

The sources expect that the current visit of the DG ISI to the US following the recent visit of the COAS is likely to shift the balance towards Pakistan in the“A greater role for Pakistan in a settled Afghanistan after NATO withdrawal and denial of space to Indian covert activities remained on top of agenda,” a source said, adding that the DG ISI met senior officials at Pentagon, CIA chief, FBI and Homeland security.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif also visited US during November last year, where he held talks with senior US military commanders and defence officials. A visit by DG ISI, it is said, was on similar lines to work out modalities of the finalised plans discussed during COAS visit. It is said that during the meeting, US senior officials praised the Pakistan Army and the country’s intelligence agencies for their commitment, professionalism and achievement in the fight against terror as well as the ongoing Zarb-e-Azb operation.

It is said that the important issues that came under discussion include dialogue on Pak-Afghan issue and how the future will look like after the withdrawal of Isaf and US troops; Pakistan’s fight against terrorism entering a new phase after the December 16 Peshawar school tragedy and India-TTP nexus against Pakistan.

The sources said that NATO pullout from Afghanistan has seriously upset India which had invested a hefty amount to gain foothold in Afghanistan in order to destabilise Pakistan. It is said that recently the Indian nexus with Afghanistan based TTP against Pakistan has furthered and there are reports of Indian support to series of recent terrorist acts in Pakistan. “The intent is to force the international community to remain focused on Afghan issue and settle it in the best interest of India rather than Afghanistan,” a source said.

What about there support for BLA ?

I believe ISI have intercepted numerous phone calls from Afghanistan with TTP confirming the existence of Indian RAW handlers.

The next step is to identify funding source. I wonder which Indian tycoon is providing the funds. Lakshmi Mittal?

He is just ticking a box. US would never question anyone as long as the targets receiving the bullets are Muslims. Israel and India are two good examples,

The solution to Indian terrorism in Pakistan is not to gather international support but to fight our own battles. We don't want statements, we want Qisas.

India has been successful to pressurise Pakistan through US , the same tactic is practised by DG ISI through diplomatic means. Clean counter (use of no proxies) against India will take ages to develop. That's what I think.

This is not tit for tat. This purely to ensure Afghanistan has a chance to develop into a independent nation and not be held hostage to South Asian game of thrones.

US does not have any love for Indians, not even the Jews. They only love their interest. The US sees profit in their relationship with India so they will back India. There is no other ideological support extended.

Good - always keep Indian sponsorship of terrorism in headlines, but at same time counter it and make them pay with interest as well. Just statements are not enough.

Ironically it was Pakistan's creation of Taliban which in turn created TTP and now the whole af-pak region is in turmoil.

Taliban is a product of US and Pak cooperation during Soviet war. It was necessary to win because nobody else in Afghanistan wanted to own the war and win it.

TTP is Indian RAW creation. Set up by funds and is father of ISIS how it bribes existing militiamen and blackmails locals to join. Cultivated poppy trade in Afghanistan for longevity just how ISIS use oilfields in Iraq for recurring revenue.

Thats why it butchers children in schools and bombs markets. Completely illogical stuff like this to affect Pakistans image. Their very actions are Indian. Their words are Indian. The worst of India that is for sure.

US armed muslims who were willing to be sacrificial goats against the Soviet offensive. USSR did not have the funds to fight a 10 year war without using nukes or WW2 style indiscriminate killing. The US and west will obviously not allow the Russians to fight like them. USSR economy broke and Soviets beat a hasty retreat.

This created long-term problems. First of all the Americans armed any muslim, not just the Afghans. Secondly there was no clear winner. The Russians left quickly but no one group of "mujahideen" could claim victory. This resulted in a vicious civil war among mujaheddin groups or control over Afghanistan. The Pakistanis saw their chance to grab hold of a free country and created, armed, pushed Taliban inside Afghanistan. The rest is history.

TTP is not a RAW creation. Have some sense when you make these comments. Why the hell will an Islamic extremist group take orders from a Hindu? TTP is the result of Pakistan turning a blind eye to the snakes it reared in their own backyard. It is a Frankenstein monster gone out of control.

Neither Tehreek nor Taliban are Hindi or Sanskrit words. The Pakistanis are too embarrassed by their strategic blunder that's why they blame India. Nobody, not even China, believes Paksitani claims on Taliban.

The discovery of OBL hideout in Pakistan plus the public knowledge of Taliban's creation by Pakistan means Pakistan will fight every legal and diplomatic battle permanently on the back-foot.

Thats what you would like everyone to believe.

The context of the entire situation is to keep reminding that Pakistan are the producers. It is entrapment. It is a direct attack on the strategic depth concept.

Even some US congressmen believed this bullshit and secretly backed Indian funding and creation of TTP.

However Chuck Hagel spilled the beans and the cat is now out of the bag with the proof ISI have.

I love to read fiction. This is one!

Wow! The stories that are trotted out by the Establishment can earn them the Booker prize!
