China, Vietnam agree to properly settle maritime disputes

you love peace, but China govt don't. PLA killed Vietnamese in Paracels 1974, and in Spratly 1988 to take Islands and Reefs of Vietnam..
Our government represents most of our citizens's will, so no need to separate us from our government.
Conflict is conflict, especially when both sides don't want to yield. Therefore, yes,we dislike each other. That is OK.Every nation or every people has its own dislikes for some reasons.
But no need to try so hard and so hysterically to express hatred, it is just not a good manner.

There is verbal fighting, let to be calm down.

It's not that China govt doesn't love peace, everyone love peace as long as national interests is served.
However the two countries do have territorial dispute, so clashes is inevitable if the preferred option of negotiations failed.

The 1974 and 1988, those clashes are low-intensity, short-period, tactical-level naval confrontations. Casualties on both sides are very limited, comprised of pure military personnel, no civilians involved.

So let's both have a bit of sportsmanship spirit, get over this bar fight 30 years ago, and re-design the future bilateral relationship insecurity as well as economy. China is Vietnam's biggest influencer, Vietnam has a vital role in China's geopolitical game plan on SE Asia, this mutual need should drive both should sit down and plan things ahead now.

To this topic, CPC and VCP has been many time agreed that the territory dispute will be solved base on negociation, but China swallowed her words.

1955, both agreed it, but 1956 China invaded in to Woody Island of Vietnam, when France withdrawal from Island and South Vietnam was busy and came late. 1974 China invaded in to Paracels and killed Vietnamese stationed there.

After 1975, again both side agreed that, but 1988 China taken many reefs of Vietnam with force, and again PLA killed Vietnamese brutally.

Note that Vietnam controlled officially Islands from may hundreds years ago with out troubles with China.

This is true face of China, China is playing dirty trick against Vietnam. :coffee:

I've only been on PDF for 10 days and I'm already used to the viet-style flame.
It's fun to watch sometimes.

Many hundreds years ago Vietnam was a vassal to the Middle Kingdom.

I disagree in part with you my friend.

Yes, there were clashes. The casualties were all military personnel not like they were unarmed civilians, and on both sides not just VN. It does happen in military confrontations, and it will continue to happen.

But neither you nor me know what has been negotiated, we just know for a fact that there is no formal treaty being signed, and no formal settlement has been made so far, so clashes is not totally inevitable.

Tricks as you labelled it, are used by everyone not just CN politicians. Politics are always dirty, there is no need to glorify it, both CN and VN senior officials should know well. The key thing is both are wise enough to sit down and co-plan for best national interests in the next era, not indulged in blind nationalism and past clashes. As I said, think outside the box, both have a lot more to co-op, this territorial dispute is not a major obstacle. Future clashes? Maybe but should be minimised to tactical level.

Do you know who Vietnam's greatest trading partner is ? That trade exceeds $30 Billion per annum, and is Vietnam's greatest trade partner. By a huge margin. Nationalism is fine, in healthy amounts, but remember there are over 93 million Vietnamese who's daily living depends on an austere , healthy trade relations with China, and a requisite is a positive relationship.

Adieu,
Do u know that VN welcome TPP deal, and the deal including JP ???

And VN will stop trading wt China when we join the TPP, so CN will not be our (VN_JP_US etc) partner anymore.
what's wrong with you.....:o:....VN_JP_US.....can't help you....

VN import parts from China, assemble and sell to US, JP, etc..
If VN stop trading with China, it has nothing to assemble and sell..

Whatever, thats not your concern, dont poke ur nose into our TPP deal :pop:

I am not sure if Japan is interested in Free trading with US like TPP or free trade with Korea and China..
I heard Japan is not happy in agriculture term of TPP..
the low cost US farm will ruin the Japan agriculture..

Of course buddy!

If Japan signs the TPP, that won't prevent her from forming an FTA with China. For example, Australia -- she signed an FTA with China recently --- yet she's still signing the TPP.

Vietnamese buddy, while the TPP enables Vietnam to have greater access to the markets in say -- US, Australia, New Zealand, Japan et al -- it doesn't necessarily mean that Vietnam will abrogate its trade agreements with China, in fact, there is the potential of Vietnam and China signing a FTA in the foreseeable future.

Second, Tho the markets in TPP will be an economic boost to Vietnam's agricultural and industrial components -- these will only be a synergistic benefit to Vietnam. I don't see any change to the $30 Billion bilateral trade between China and Vietnam, in fact, from reports -- this will only increase in 2015 and beyond.

In discussions regarding national development , intraregional developments -- its important to divorce nationalistic sentiment.

Thank you and take care.

Conflict between China and Vietnam was was almost 30 years ago. Flare-ups are natural , adn the reasons why nations have diplomats is to enable restitution of peace. Despite the flare-up some 30 years ago , both Hanoi and Beijing have developed relations -- for the most part -- and to illustrate this indispensable relationship, here are some graphs for vindication:

True, but China and Vietnam aren't friends. It's hard to trade with your enemy.
