Thank you ever so much for your considered and balanced opinion. I think you are missing the point of the forum i.e. exchange of ideas (this requires an open mind, a concept obviously lost on you)

Barrett daytime shoot (no apparent flash)

Just because your eye don't see it doesn't mean it is not there .... (plus, IR sensor will 'see' in different spectrum than your eye)
1.we are talking about day light, in the night there is no need for "ground fire-detection system".
2.again you are referring to other guns, while I said this one doesn't have flash, there are videos with 2 different angles, go find the flash.

3.what they call GFAS is for tracking this kind of flash:

and not this one:
13691887882.jpg

4.there is a huge difference between a camera zoomed at 2m away (with that angle) and a camera hundreds meter away and without zoom.
5. your reasoning about the spectrums is totally BS, cause firstly sunlight contains all the spectrums and acts as a noise (whether our eyes see it or not) and secondly gun powder either burns inside the tube or outside, if it's inside then there wont be any light and if it's outside then it would contain the visible spectrums too.

In view of the previous, which is self-evident, I rest my case.

1. When I'm flying a helicopter on a mission, and focus on that mission, I would love to have a ground fire detection system that automatically cues my heli-gun to an immediate target/threat. Regardless of whether it is day or night. Simply because under combat conditions, automatic cueing will be faster and more accurate than manualy cueing.
2. I didn't bring up the Barrett, you pal did. As with the Barrett, the Iranian 20mm anti-materiel rifle doesn't necessarily show a flash in daytime (which doesn't mean it isn't there, your eye may simply not see it: do you see heat as well as an IR sensor?
3. For an IR sensor, a flash is a flash is a flash
4. Various systems actually work at some distance, see: Defense Review - Anti-Sniper/Sniper Detection/Gunfire Detection Systems at a Glance
5. a THERMAL SIGNATURE (HEAT) is also given off by the projectile, as well as the firing gun. What is FLASH? Does the eye see HEAT or LIGHT?
http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/logi...re.ieee.org/xpls/abs_all.jsp?arnumber=1284275 e.g. a midwave IR camera was used to detect muzzle flash and cue a visible light camera on a gimbal to the detected event.

On the earlier models the muzzle brakes were of round cross-section, later M82 rifles are equipped with two chamber brakes of rectangular cross-section. They remain muzzle brakes nonetheless. Are you - possibly - confusing a muzzle brake with a flash guard/suppressor (both barrel mounted but having rather different functions)?

Barrett-M107A1-featurest.jpg

I'm not millitary expert but I knew one thing a flash suppressor reduce the flash by dispersing hot air and unburned gases and a muzzle break also divert the gases at the muzzle of the gun and this two chamber arrow shape do that better than the old round one

so why you think the muzzle break also don't act as a flash suppressor ?

These are flash suppressors

Repear: Contrary to popular belief, it is only a secondary and minor benefit if a flash suppressor also reduces the intensity of the muzzle flash that may be visible to the enemy.

I.e. even flash suppressors typically don't FULLY HIDE muzzle flash.

well I have a question
is it Flash suppressor or Muzzle brake ?

if its flash suppressor why the one on Iranian rifle can't be flash suppressor , if its a muzzle brake why its on a military sniper rifle instead of a flash suppressor ?

That would be a muzzle brake (it is needed to redirected energy sideways and to the rear to reduce recoil. The above is a .50 rifle, which is smaller and less powerfull than a 20 mm) I don't think there are any such large caliber rifles without muzzle break...

Check some out http://world.guns.ru/sniper/large-caliber-sniper-rifles-e.html

The RT-20 Antimateriel Sniper Rifle (Croatia) is one of the most powerful anti-materiel rifles fielded by any army in the world today - the only others design roughly comparable to this monster in the terms of the caliber and effectiveness are the South-African NTW-20 rifle and the Finnish Helenius APH-20 ... and now this Iranian hulk.

Just to give an idea of the size difference between a 12,7x99 and the nearest 20mm round, see this pic from Tony Williams' website on ammunitions

At approximately 38,000 foot-pounds (51,521 J) of kinetic energy, the 20mm round, as fired out of e.g. the Anzio rifle, has over three times the power of the .50 BMG cartridge fired out of a comparable rifle, which is around 12,200 foot pounds (16,540 J) of kinetic energy.

Zulfiqar
Different versions of Zulfiqar is on the drawing board , including the Z4 is under testing right now and Zulfiqar 4/6 which is still on ritsbordet . I can not say much right now, but the Z4 will have updated armor, Z5 and Z6 are proposed projects that will be in service from 2022 to 2025 if approved . Z6 described by the designer as one of the most modern tanks among östvärlden and that it has the best firepower and one of the best Armour , but that ammo going to be in a different location within the tank when it is vulnerable , and that this error exists in all Chinese , Russian and ukraniska tanks. Subject Z4 so claim a certain percentage of people on the internet that it will be with some similarity to the T- 84, but it's still rumors. Z4 will replace the previous tanks in service from 40/50-talet . Z5 is designed to replace Ch'ŏnma -ho , T-72 and Chieftain . Z6 , I have no information on the role , but it would probably be the first Iranian tank in class to become a part of big export.

Fakher Combat Vehicle
We do not know much about the project, but the only thing known is that Faker / Fakher is produced in order to replace the bulk of the fighting vehicles within the Iranian forces. This is just a matter of time before more information comes about this tank and then we lay out more details in this thread. It was described by Masragh news bit where you understand that Fakher will have as much protection as the T-72.

Z Artillery
Will be based on Z4S chassis to replace the major part of Iranian artillery, both the drawn and movable. Will be tested in 2016 if there are no delays. This has similarities to 2S19 MSTA-S according to rumors. There is a lack of information about the project and there is even a chance that the project also is dejected and Raad-3 developed instead.

TEHRAN (FNA) - The Iranian defense researchers, inspired by fish scales, have designed and developed a new type of hi-tech bulletproof vest which protects the soldiers against bullets fired from close range and different angles.

13921204000492_PhotoI.jpg

The vest can highly increase the protection and survival chances of the individuals wearing it and protects them against many dangers in the battleground.

Due to the technology used in the new bulletproof vest compared with the usual vests, the body’s vital organs are protected against the bullets fired from close range and different angles.

Inspired by fish scales, the flexibility and overlap of the layers which make the vest play an important role in decreasing injuries.

A bulletproof vest, ballistic vest or bullet-resistant vest is an item of personal armor that helps absorb the impact from firearm-fired projectiles and shrapnel from explosions, and is worn on the torso. Soft vests are made from many layers of woven or laminated fibers and can be capable of protecting the wearer from small-caliber handgun and shotgun projectiles, and small fragments from explosives such as hand grenades.

Metal or ceramic plates can be used with a soft vest, providing additional protection from rifle rounds, and metallic components or tightly woven fiber layers can give soft armor resistance to stab and slash attacks from knives and similar close-quarter weapons. Soft vests are commonly worn by police forces, private citizens, security guards, and bodyguards, whereas hard-plate reinforced vests are mainly worn by combat soldiers, police tactical units, and hostage rescue teams.

Modern body armor may combine a ballistic vest with other items of protective clothing, such as a combat helmet. Vests intended for police and military use may also include ballistic shoulder and side protection armor components, and bomb disposal officers wear heavy armor and helmets with face visors and spine protection.
