সাঁথিয়ায় সংখ্যালঘুদের বাড়িতে হামলা

ফেসবুকে মহানবী হজরত মুহাম্মদ (সা.) সম্পর্কে কটূক্তির গুজব ছড়িয়ে পাবনার সাঁথিয়া উপজেলায় গতকাল শনিবার বিক্ষোভ, সড়ক অবরোধ ও হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের ওপর হামলার ঘটনা ঘটেছে। এ সময় হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের ২০-২৫টি বাড়ি এবং দুটি মন্দিরে ভাঙচুর ও অগ্নিসংযোগ করা হয়।এলাকায় পুলিশ মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে। পরিস্থিতি শান্ত থাকলেও হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে আতঙ্ক বিরাজ করছে।

এলাকাবাসী সূত্রে জানা গেছে, উপজেলার বনগ্রাম বাজারে সকাল ১০টায় গুজব ছড়িয়ে পড়ে যে, স্থানীয় ব্যবসায়ী বাবলু সাহার ছেলে রাজিব সাহা (১৫) ফেসবুকে মহানবী (সা.) সম্পর্কে কটূক্তি করেছে। এ খবরে বাজারের কিছু ব্যবসায়ী উত্তেজিত হয়ে ওঠেন। বেলা ১১টার দিকে ফেসবুকের একটি পাতার ফটোকপি বাজারে ছড়িয়ে দেওয়া হয়। কথিত ফেসবুক পাতার ফটোকপিতে নামসহ কভার ছবি, প্রোফাইল ছবি ও একটি পোস্ট ছিল। ফেসবুক পাতাটির নাম ছিল আপত্তিকর এবং কভারে ছিল আপত্তিকর একটি কার্টুন।
ফেসবুক পাতার ফটোকপি ছড়িয়ে পড়ার পর পাড়া-মহল্লায় ক্ষোভ ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। একপর্যায়ে বিক্ষুব্ধ জনতা বনগ্রাম বাজারে বাবলু সাহার ব্যবসাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে গিয়ে তাঁর ছেলেকে হাজির করতে বলে। কিন্তু তিনি ছেলেকে হাজির না করায় উত্তেজিত জনতা আরও বিক্ষুব্ধ হয়ে বাজারের মাঝ দিয়ে যাওয়া ঢাকা-পাবনা মহাসড়কে গাছের গুঁড়ি ফেলে অবরোধ করে বিক্ষোভ করতে থাকে। এতে সড়কে যান চলাচল বন্ধ হয়ে যায়।

প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীরা জানান, দুপুর ১২টার দিকে মহাসড়কে যখন বিক্ষোভ চলছিল, তখন কিছু যুবক মহাসড়কের পাশের বনগ্রামের ঘোষপাড়া ও সাহাপাড়ায় ভাঙচুর শুরু করে। তারা প্রথমে সাহাপাড়ায় বাবলু সাহার বাড়িতে ভাঙচুর চালিয়ে অগ্নিসংযোগ করে। পরে ঘোষপাড়ায় হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের আরও প্রায় ২৫টি বাড়ি ও দুটি মন্দির ভাঙচুর করে। তারা বনগ্রাম বাজারে বাবলু সাহার দোকানসহ কয়েকটি দোকান ভাঙচুর করে। এ সময় অন্য দোকানদারেরা বাবলু সাহাকে একটি কক্ষে লুকিয়ে রাখেন।
খবর পেয়ে সাঁথিয়া ও আতাইকুলা থানার পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে যাওয়ার চেষ্টা করলে উত্তেজিত জনতা তাদের বাধা দেয়। বেলা দেড়টার দিকে পাবনার পুলিশ সুপার মিরাজ উদ্দিন আহমেঞ্চদের নেতৃত্বে পুলিশ ও র‌্যাবের একটি বড় দল ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে বাবলু সাহাকে উদ্ধার করে। এ সময় পুলিশের সঙ্গে বিক্ষুব্ধ জনতার ধাওয়া-পাল্টাধাওয়া হয়। পরে পুলিশ কাঁদানে গ্যাসের শেল নিক্ষেপ ও লাঠিপেটা করে জনতাকে ছত্রভঙ্গ করে দেয়। বিকেল সাড়ে চারটার দিকে পরিস্থিতি মোটামুটি নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে।
এলাকাবাসীর সঙ্গে কথা বলে জানা গেছে, বাবুল সাহা লেখাপড়া জানেন না। ফেসবুক কী, তিনি বোঝেন না। তাঁর ছেলে রাজীব সাহা উপজেলার মিয়াপুর হাজী জসিম উদ্দিন উচ্চবিদ্যালয়ের দশম শ্রেণীর ছাত্র। সে ফেসবুক ব্যবহার করে কি না, সে সম্পর্কে তার সহপাঠী ও প্রতিবেশীরাও কিছু জানেন না।
ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত সংখ্যালঘু পরিবারের সদস্যরা ঘটনার আকস্মিকতায় হতবিহ্বল হয়ে পড়েন। হামলার সময় তাঁরা অনেকে আত্মগোপন করেন। পরে সন্ধ্যার দিকে তাঁদের বেশির ভাগ বাড়িঘরে ফিরে এলেও চরম আতঙ্কের মধ্যে রয়েছেন।
আতাইকুলা ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান কোরবান আলী বিশ্বাস জানান, তাঁরা এলাকার খোঁজখবর রাখছেন। তবে ঘটনাটিকে উদ্দেশ্যমূলক বলে মনে করছেন তিনি।

সন্ধ্যা ছয়টার দিকে ঘটনাস্থল থেকে পাবনার অতিরিক্ত জেলা ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট মুন্সি মোহাম্মদ মনিরুজ্জামান বলেন, ‘আমরা এখনো ঘটনাস্থলেই রয়েছি। পরিস্থিতি পর্যবেক্ষণ করা হচ্ছে।’

এর আগে গত বছরের ২৯ সেপ্টেম্বর কক্সবাজারের রামুতে এ ধরনের গুজব ছড়িয়ে বৌদ্ধপল্লিতে হামলা করা হয়। এতে ১২টি বৌদ্ধবিহার এবং ৩৪টি বসতবাড়ি পুড়িয়ে দেওয়া হয়। পরদিন পাশের উখিয়া ও টেকনাফেও সাতটি বৌদ্ধবিহার ও ১১টি বসতিতে অগ্নিসংযোগ করা হয়। উত্তম বড়ুয়া নামের এক যুবকের ফেসবুকে পবিত্র কোরআন শরিফের অবমাননার ছবি পাওয়া গেছে—এমন অভিযোগ তুলে এ হামলা চালানো হলেও তদন্তে তা প্রমাণিত হয়নি।

নিন্দা-প্রতিবাদ: সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের বাড়িঘরে হামলার নিন্দা ও প্রতিবাদ জানিয়েছেন হিন্দু বৌদ্ধ খ্রিষ্টান ঐক্য পরিষদ পাবনা জেলা শাখার সভাপতি চন্দন কুমার চক্রবর্তী। ঘটনার সুষ্ঠু তদন্ত করে দোষী ব্যক্তিদের দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তি দাবি করেন তিনি। মহানবী হজরত মুহাম্মদ (সা.) সম্পর্কে কটূক্তির বিষয়ে তিনি বলেন, ‘সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায় এ ধরনের কাজ করতে পারে বলে আমি বিশ্বাস করি না। এটি একটি ষড়যন্ত্র বলে আমাদের ধারণা।’

Nice try with typical indian deception. Vote is is not in question. Here hindus are using themselves to attack Islam and using themselves as Awami League shield to escape. If hindus are willing to be indian and Awami League sacrificial lamb, no one should have any sympathy for these communal and anti Bangladeshi hindu elements.

Do not know the veracity of this report. However, Hindus get targeted not because they are a minority but because the bulk of them belong to BAL.Even false flag ops are enacted by BAL to collect points from their masters. Early this year several cases were reported where BCL cadre set fire to Hindu dwellings and put the blame on JeI's student wing, Shibir.
