Calcutta Hindu-Muslim Riot of August 1946 and its Impact on East Bengal

@ Here I agree little bit with you. It is true that you Bengali Hindus had been fighting against British for more than 3 decades and during these 3 decades we had been supporting the British. Let me take the privilage to explain little bit :

1. In the true sense the Hindus never accepted the dominance of Muslims for 7/8 centuries in the Indian Sub-continent. Once the East India Company came to Bengal most of the upper class Hindus supported, collaborated and finally conspired to defeat the Muslim rulers of Bengal. The Battle of Pallassay of 1757 is the glaring example. Nowab Seraj Daullaw wsa bitterly criticised by most of the Hindu Historian writers.

2. Once East India Company and finally British Govt captured power in India the Hindus were the most benificial lots. Majority of Muslims remained isolated. Throughout 150 years these Hindu Babus dominated in the society, may be a "Daroga", Principal, Headmaster, DC, SP, SDO. During these years at best Muslims were clerks, Head cLerks, Peons, Constables, common soldiers, Hawelders etc. In those days most of the Zaminders were Hindus. In many places of East Bengal slaughtering cows were for bidden. People were not allowed to wear even a "Longi", they were forced to wear "Langoti".

3. Lately the Muslims of East Bengal realized the truth. Now, they started going to schools and collages instead of going to "Maktub and Madrasas ". In those days the Muslims students were not allowed to go to "Patshala" being maintained by the Hindu Zaminders. In this way in 1905 the Bengal wsa Partitioned by the British on administrative ground. This movement was welcomed by the majority Muslims of East Bengal but contrary it was not at all liked by the Hindus of Bengal. Soon the anti-partition was started. Quickly two organization named, "Onushilon and Juganter " were formed throughout Bengal. These organization were termed as terrorist organization by the British but Hindus considered them as patriotic. Many British administrative officers were killed and finally the the Partition of Bengal was annulled in 1911. THrough out this period Muslims of East Bengal remained silent but they formed a new political party named as " Muslim Leaque" in 1906. The members of "Onushilon and Jugantar" continued the movement till 1930's. Many leaders like Mater Da Surja Sen, Phitilota joined in this nationalistic movement. But the majority of Muslims remained isolated. And so on.........

1. There really was no dominance ever of Muslims or Hindus as a religion, it all depended on the person. Your major flaw as muslims is you keep thinking about religion. Throughout histor, there have been strong and weak hindus and muslims. Whether a ruler gets praised or criticized dpeends on his deeds, not on his religion. DOnt know much about bengal history to comment on that, but if he got criticized by multiple hostorians, he must have been a very bad ruler.

2. Not all Hindus were influential under Britishers, just like not all muslims were influential under muslim rulers (just a few persian/afghan families were influential in bengal). Most Hindu zamindars ave been zamindars like this for many centuries due to family/caste, its not like suddenly the british can just decide who to give lands to. There is no historical evidence of this. The number of Hindu Zamindars more or less did not change all the way from Chandragupta Maurya's time in 400bc to british times in 1900ad...

3. There was a time pre-1947 that Hindus might have actually wanted to live with muslims like gandhi had once preached, and thats why many hindus opposed not only partition of bengal but also partition on punjab/sindh etc. But after seeing your true colour in 1947 and since then, we are more than happy you guys decided to part ways, and do not want to have anything to do with you anymore...

@ Have you not heard the "Permanent Settlement" of LOrd Cornowalish ? what we call in Bengali, " Cheroishtai Bondhobashto ". In that system suddenly all previous Zaminders were vanished and the new Zamindars were appointed on the basis of new auction system.

Muslim League was itself the party of Zamindars, Nawabs and other elites etc. Muslim League always supported the interest of Zamindars. The support of Muslim League came because of religion, not because of zamindari system which you are trying to claim.

tHIS THREAD HOWS THAT pARTITION WAS A GREAT BOON FOR THE hINDUS.

Still peddling fiction to gullible people, eh?

Just mentioning facts, your record of hobnobbing with mullahs and suppressing genuine freedom movements is well known.

I can refute your idiocy by million facts. But wait, what is the importance of independence to someone paying taxes to the Australian government?

If I start documenting what you khaki chaaddis were doing during Indian independence struggle, you won't find a place to hide.

so,there are no bengalis living outside India?

By khakhi, I am guessing you are talking about the RSS? FYI, RSS is a national Hindu organization, with representation from Bengalis as well. So any documents you have about RSS would be equally bad for West bengal as well...

Im curious though, what were RSS doing during independence, and where are these so called documents that prove your claims?

come on document it dude, what are you waiting for?

you think we dont know what you are going to say?
