Italian envoy cannot leave India

but how is possible, an ambassador has a politic immunity !!
how can india prevent him from leaving india ?

:pop:

The ambassador had given written assurance to the court that the Italian marines will come back before march 22. So he must be responsible for the whole drama.

It is impossible guyz!

This must be made possible. These europeans still thinks we asians are under their colonial rule. Time to show the strength of asia & developing countries.:flame:

Get my facts straight? I think you need to google the figures of the Indian fishermen killed and detained without trial in both nations. How exactly did you come to the conclusion that Indian fishermen are the ones encroaching on foreign waters? Any binding legal report or judgement to that effect?

Facts straight before accusing India of Racism. Don't pull allegations out of you @$$ .....there is nothing racist about Indian anger and demand for justice.

honestly i think there is nothing your government can do about it.
look if the Italian can manage to set free theirs marines , what can stop them to do same for they ambassador.
see they plays really good game in this case.

He has been told to not leave the country till March 19th, on 18th March he has to give an explanation to the SC.

The issue is snow balling into a major diplomatic row between India and Italy.
expect more drama

This has the potential to be called a troll.... But i do agree with first part of your post.....

If India can't do anything if 2 Indians are killed, what exactly is India going to do if 100 or a 1000 Indians are killed.
The number of Indians that died makes no difference.
No leverage means no leverage.

All this guy has to do is bribe a few poor Indians and jump across the border to Bangladesh and go back to Italy from Bangladesh.
India has a big problem with illegals from Bangladesh jumping the border, if its that easy for them, the Italian intelligence agency can certainly get their ambassador out of India. If Bangladesh route don't work, then try the other countries.
Indians can be easily fooled through lies and deception. It's not that tough.
Just look how Italy made a mockery of the Indian Supreme Court and the Indian government.
India is not much different to how the west treats most Latin American countries.

And mighty blue navy will be sleeping as usual

The newsprint in question came through you on this PDF thread.
You had option to have vetted it, and then release, if tenable under the present imbroglio between India n Italy.
But you failed big time, due to a lack of in depth knowledge in international affairs.

As to why I am on this thread?
well, I am here to give you the knowledge punishment.

knowledge punishment

Thing is Italian Ambassidor has to do what SC has ordered, Since he himself agreed to submit in front of SC, Simple point, try to understand.

Whatever Italy does internationally do not matter, if they want to change the ambassidor then India will downgrade the diplomatic relations and also trade relations.

At home Italian Govt has to answer why they left a guy in India for the sake of killer marines.

This is an unprecedented case in India .......

There has been a case in the US when an foreign ambassador was guilty of jumping traffic signal and he appeared before the court. In court he sought diplomatic immunity ...but because he accepted the courts subpoena, the US court declared that he voluntarily submitted to the jurisdictional of the US court and was sentenced.

This court case has the potential to redefine accountability of diplomats globally and for that reason it will be closely watched by world media. Now India has zero clout in global media ....so if it sparks a media war ....India will fare poorly in garnering world opinion.

Congress Very bad handling of this matter and the SC playing footsie to the ruling party has put India and Indian judiciary in the spotlight.......this is a battle we cannot win. Its a loose loose situation.

India is turning up the pressure on Italy as fury grows over Rome's decision not to return the two accused marines.

All Indian airports and other border points have been told to prevent the Italian ambassador Daniele Mancini from leaving if he tries to do so.

The ambassador had earlier said he had no plans to go after hearing of the Indian Supreme Court's restraining order - so this looks like calculated escalation.

With no sign of Italy backing down, India is considering further retaliation.

"Italy is reneging on an assurance to our highest court," said foreign ministry spokesman Syed Akbaruddin.

Even the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon has become involved, calling for a peaceful resolution to the dispute.

The families of the two dead fishermen are keeping up the pressure for their alleged killers to be returned, while opposition politicians pummel the Indian government for its handling of the case.

There has been no comment from the Italian embassy here. But the Italian position is that marines should be tried in Rome because it maintains the shooting happened in international waters - something India disputes.

What makes Italy's position more complicated is the personal assurance Mr Mancini gave to the Indian Supreme Court that the two marines would return.

India argues that means he has willingly subjected himself to the jurisdiction of Indian courts despite his diplomatic status.

It is on those grounds that it rejects suggestions that it is compromising the 1961 Vienna convention which governs diplomatic relations.

Many other diplomats in Delhi - and even the Indian government - have expressed surprise that Italy gave such an assurance in court.

"We would never allow Indian diplomats to do the same," Mr Akbaruddin said.

The next step will come on Monday when Ambassador Mancini has to explain Italy's position to the Supreme Court.

This is not as you want to make it now!
You said India might attack Italy, that was absurd.
Now you are changing the whole scenario.
This does not work like this.
