Saudi crown prince to visit Pakistan by end year

They are both brotherly Muslim countries and Pakistanis value the brotherly love of BOTH these countries. Who the hell are you to ask us to choose between our two brothers.

Relax dude , i have followed the viewpoints of your fellow pakistani members who have been posting ill about Saudi and how they have buckled down to Uncle sams Diktat ... Atleast the Iranians are standing firm on their own

Pakistani public favor none while govt favor both Iran and Arabs

What makes you say this , Dont Pakistanis who now absolutely hate USA to the core support and admire how Iran is opposing USA all on its own ... isnt it an example for what Pak needs to be doing ....

And by the way only reason Pakistan is hub of "terrorism" is because your Saudi leaders keep milking money into terror groups like TTP and al-Qaeda causing Afghani people and Pakistan much hurt... But why does it matter, Pakistan was the one who saved your *** from Israelis in all those wars, otherwise you'd be part of "The promised land". And Pakistan still helping and providing nuclear umbrella to all Arab nations, yet when you guys hurt our nation like funding terrorists to blow up markets, trying to stop IP line which will benefit Pakistan... It seems we don't want to help Arab nations as they have no shame and even hurt the hand that feeds them. Whatever Just remember if Israel attacks Arabs, USA won't be there to help you, but our nation at its own EXPENSE will give its own life to stop destruction of Mecca, and Medina.

Dude, why don't you accept that ISI and Pak army funded terrorists to fight india? Its documented facts, even a Pakistani general (his name was "Babar" something, i can't remember his full name, he was in charge of the Karachi operation in the 1990's, he recently passed away last year i believe) stated that they (the terrorists) are his children.

We're all responsible for this Frankenstein that we created and nurtured so lovingly and now its coming back to bite us in the @$$ and we're blaming the others instead of accepting our own stupidity!!!

Secondly, Pakistan isn't the "hand" that fed any nation, last i checked we're the ones accepting foreign aid from various donor countries including Saudi Arabia and other Arab/Muslim nations.

What the **** is going on over here? This thread isn't about fighting & arguing, it's about discussing the relations between Pakistan & Saudi Arabia. Most of the damn posts are off topic. I will advise members to cease posting off topic comments or I am going to have no other choice but to report them myself. I realize that English isn't the mother tongue for most of the members here, but some of you need to improve your command over the English language. It's better to not post at all instead of posting some incomprehensible gibberish & insulting the English language while you are at it.

Pakistan's major problems result from the country's own wrong doings. This includes corruption, lawlessness, & to an extent terrorism as well. Pakistan has been ruled by corrupt idiots & their mismanagement has led the country to its downfall. Issues such as the horrible economic conditions, lawlessness, & the lack of energy are a result of the country's government's own handiwork. Religious extremism results from a lack of true understanding about Islam & its values. Once again, the only way to eradicate this issue of extremism is through education & the promotion of freedom of speech & thoughts. Apart from that greater job opportunities are needed for the living standards of citizens to improve so that they may turn into productive members of the society. This will in turn reduce crime rates & lawlessness. Pakistan needs a sort of a cultural renaissance of its own along with a complete overhaul of the government.

I really doubt that our country would abandon the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project due to our dire needs for energy & the desire for coming up with a medium to long term solution for the energy crisis. I am not sure of this, but I have even heard of power production projects through the use of windmills in Pakistan.

Getting back to Saudi Arabia, they are definitely not the sponsors of terrorism as it is often claimed. There has never been any proof that the Saudi government sponsors terrorists. It is a lie often repeated for discrediting the country. It was said that in the past certain charity organizations would secretly fund money to terrorist groups, but such activities received a heavy crack down by the government. There are restrictions present on the amount of money charities are allowed to send abroad & even in those cases the flow of money is monitored. The Saudi government even revised their textbooks & curricula to get rid of topics that may incite hatred for other religions & people. Do visit the article I have linked below, it should refute the claims of Saudi Arabia being involved in terrorist activities.

Terrorism Out of Saudi Arabia - Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

Here are 2 quotes from that article:

A fatwa was also issued saying that raising money for terrorism is the same as being a terrorist. And many prominent religious officials have condemned terrorism and worked hard to undermine support for terrorism and counter the intellectual or ideological justifications for terrorist activities.

The relationship today shows how two governments can cooperate. If every country was willing to cooperate like Saudi Arabia, the world would be a much safer place. There are two things that are needed to fight terrorism—political will and capacity. Saudi Arabia has demonstrated both. Other countries haven’t. Saudi Arabia recognized that it was at risk of terrorism and then focused a great deal of attention on the problem.

In conclusion, it's best that people avoid blaming others for their problems & failures. Pakistan & Saudi Arabia have pretty much always been close allies, I find it difficult to believe that either could betray the other. All countries have their own interests, & their own destiny.

Yes and Iran is Paying a heavy Price for that attitude. Some would question the wisdom of that strategy. They are hurting their own economy and their people are suffering. Is it really worth it, some would disagree.

Either you're naive, or you don't know anything about Pakistan...

I hope that it is the case that i'm naive and wrong, but i'm certain that my eyes didn't fool me when i read those statements made by our own Pakistani generals and politicians about their "children" (now terrorists TTP), seems now all of a sudden these "children" of theirs have become "indian RAW, MOSSAD, CIA agents" now that they turned against their "parents".

I wonder if all pakistanis agree your viewpoint . i am pretty sure that most admire it for not buckling down like Libya or Iraq and standing on its own in the face of adversity .

A country like Saudi , most would feel that they are sold out to USA

You have a fair point there but i am not asking about the central leaderships official stand .... i am talking about who is more closer to the from general public view point ,
For example Indian govt might have excellent relationship with both USA and Russia, but closeness/sympathies of most Indians will be with Russia /.... on similar lines i wanted to know whom Pakistani public favours

To be honest, I don't think most ordinary people are too fussed about the Arab-Iranian conflict. Both cultures have influence within Pakistan and Pakistanis see both as valuable friends of the nation. At the same time, both cultures are sufficiently alien from Pakistan's own South Asian identity that people don't "identify" with one or the other.

Saudi Arabia is important for religious reasons and, given that Muslims pray five times a day, that fact would register. However, as I said, most people don't think about it consciously.

At the same time, Iranian culture is more visible in language, cuisine and some other rituals. Again, people don't think about this consciously on a day to day basis.

Bottom line, other than extremists on either side, most Pakistanis value both cultures and don't take sides in the matter.

You couldn't save half of your own country and you're protecting the sovereignty of Arab nations?

Lol! USA knows everything they just don't want to stop the good supply of oil. Just remember that without oil, the Arabs would just be camel riding tribals & nomads. You guys even have to import grass because your nation is a desert...

Just remember that without PAF training Arab nations pilots you would be greater Israel, and Israel is refraining from attacking you guys because of Pakistan. You think Iran will help you when you guys when you get attacked by Israel? Nope, they dislike Arabs.

Without KSA we survived from 1947-2012, matey. Just remember without oil you would be nothing.

I wish i could thank this post more than once.
You ignorant, Jordan and most Arab countries don't have oil, most western countries trained our armies not only Pakistanis, but hey you are miserable, you don't have any achievements to be proud of but whining over the some training missions. Small Jordan has trained Palestinian interior security forces, Iraqi army, Libyan police and Army, have trained many other military envoys from many countries, but we don't whine over it because we are confident of who we are. Now look at this and tell me who are the camels:

You are in the bottom in virtually everything.

It's Pakistan my friend.
Pakistan has been accused by India, Afghanistan, the United States,[16][17] the United Kingdom,[18] of involvement in terrorism in Kashmir and Afghanistan.[19] Poland has also alleged that terrorists have "friends in Pakistani government structures".[20] In July 2009, current President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari admitted that the Pakistani government had "created and nurtured" terrorist groups to achieve its short-term foreign policy goals.[21] According to an analysis published by Saban Center for Middle East Policy at Brookings Institution in 2008 Pakistan was the worlds 'most active' state sponsor of terrorism including aiding groups which were considered a direct threat to USA.[22]
The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has stated that it was training more than 3,000 militants from various nationalities.[23][24] According to some reports published by the Council of Foreign Relations, the Pakistan military and the ISI have provided covert support to terrorist groups active in Kashmir, including the al-Qaeda affiliate Jaish-e-Mohammed".[25][26] Pakistan has denied any involvement in terrorist activities in Kashmir, arguing that it only provides political and moral support to the secessionist groups who wish to escape Indian rule. Many Kashmiri militant groups also maintain their headquarters in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, which is cited as further proof by the Indian government. Many of the terrorist organisations are banned by the UN, but continue to operate under different names.[27] The United Nations Organization has publicly increased pressure on Pakistan on its inability to control its Afghanistan border and not restricting the activities of Taliban leaders who have been designated by the UN as terrorists.[28][29]
Many consider that Pakistan has been playing both sides in the US "War on Terror".[30][31] Ahmed Rashid, a noted Pakistani journalist, has accused Pakistan's ISI of providing help to the Taliban.[32] Author Ted Galen Carpenter echoed that statement, stating that Pakistan "...assisted rebel forces in Kashmir even though those groups have committed terrorist acts against civilians"[33] Author Gordon Thomas stated that whilst aiding in the capture of al-Qaeda members, Pakistan "still sponsored terrorist groups in the disputed state of Kashmir, funding, training and arming them in their war on attrition against India."[34] Journalist Stephen Schwartz notes that several militant and criminal groups are "backed by senior officers in the Pakistani army, the country's ISI intelligence establishment and other armed bodies of the state."[35] According to one author, Daniel Byman, "Pakistan is probably today's most active sponsor of terrorism."[36]
The Inter-Services Intelligence has often been accused of playing a role in major terrorist attacks across the world including the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States,[37][38] terrorism in Kashmir,[39][40][41] Mumbai Train Bombings,[42] Indian Parliament Attack,[43] Varnasi bombings,[44] Hyderabad bombings[45][46] and Mumbai terror attacks.[47][48] The ISI is also accused of supporting Taliban forces[49] and recruiting and training mujahideen[49][50] to fight in Afghanistan[51][52] and Kashmir.[52] Based on communication intercepts US intelligence agencies concluded Pakistan's ISI was behind the attack on the Indian embassy in Kabul on July 7, 2008, a charge that the governments of India and Afghanistan had laid previously.[53] Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who has constantly reiterated allegations that militants operating training camps in Pakistan have used it as a launch platform to attack targets in Afghanistan, urged western military allies to target extremist hideouts in neighbouring Pakistan.[54] When the United States, during the Clinton administration, targeted al-Qaida camps in Afghanistan with cruise missiles, Slate reported that two officers of the ISI were killed.[55]
Pakistan is accused of sheltering and training the Taliban in operations "which include soliciting funding for the Taliban, bankrolling Taliban operations, providing diplomatic support as the Taliban's virtual emissaries abroad, arranging training for Taliban fighters, recruiting skilled and unskilled manpower to serve in Taliban armies, planning and directing offensives, providing and facilitating shipments of ammunition and fuel, and on several occasions apparently directly providing combat support," as reported by Human Rights Watch. On May 1, 2011 Osama Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan.[56]

Here Indian slave goes again... We lost 1/6th of our country, not half. And read up, son, this is not a daycare which I'm going to read to you.

Basically Pakistanis are a confused lot.
I don't know why so many Pakistanis are so anti-Arab on this forum. In real life, Pakistanis have a lot of respect for Arabic culture.

The crown prince would be a guest -- let him enjoy the hospitality and let's not speculate anything about his motives.

Let him make his pitch, but Pakistan should make it clear it values both the Arab and Iranian relationship, and will not take sides in their conflict.

They were more than half of your people. You guys only think about territory and land. Never the people. Your own soldiers surrendered and you talk about protecting Arabs. You take military aid from US, financial aid from Arabs, provide terror aid to countless terror groups and then try to be saviours?
Can't protect your own people from drones and talking of protecting middle east?
The Arabs are not fools to be counting on you.
Sorry friend it sounds harsh but I couldn't stop myself from speeking the truth.
Next time, I'll do my best to be polite.
Here Indian slave goes again... We lost 1/6th of our country, not half. And read up, son, this is not a daycare which I'm going to read to you.
