PAF revamped Air Defense Alert System

As far as I know, this is more a reverse-engineering attempt and less a ToT. So It's anybody's guess what's inside the actual missile (seeker, motor, whatever). I see it as a good learning opportunity for our people if the program is allowed to continue and not canned because the first version didn't outperform SD-10A.
I agree. The point here shouldn't be to get the FAAZ into production, but to indigenously develop the technologies that'll go into a service-ready missile one day in the future. In fact, even if they don't get to a serviceable missile on their own, they might develop enough domestic capacity to partner with Turkiye or Emirates, for example, to develop a next-gen original design. If FAAZ results in the right crop of R&D experts, facilities, and some knowledge worth sharing, it'll be super valuable in the long run.
 
With recent kill of Russian S-400 with HIMARS, the significance of Fatah Precision MLRS has increased manifold in the region.
GIDS has also announced Fatah-II with 240+ km range which means enemy SAMs will be at the mercy of saturation attacks from Pakistani Tactical Missiles

A good step in the right direction, combined with EW to locate the S400 when it turns on its radar, you can be sure that India will be forced to keep the S-400 at least 200km away from the border.

Turkey has some nice EW kit which can be tuned to 'focus' in on an S400 deployment - as they can test both ends of that equation.

Hopefully they can get to the 400km range with the next generation of MLRS systems.

And Faaz-1 (reverse engineered SD-10) is being offered for export. Additionally a IIR Seeker variant also appears to have been developed indicating Faaz-1 missile project wasnt abandoned.

Russians/Soviets used a doctrine wherein, why you have missiles like R-27 which have extended reach vs R77 but come in an IR and also a SARH variant, offering multiple seeker options. You will also see, in Russian combat load-outs, generally, they carry both variants of the R-27, this is something that stems from the Soviet studies where they found that launching salvo's of two missile groups, of varying seeker types to further complicate the target defensive tactics, would increase the likelihood of a kill (logically), therefore, they decided that they needed multiple seeker variants of the R27 to achieve exactly that, this has been passed down today to the Russians, who employ the same tactic (though, it probably has as much to do with the large stocks of both missile types too). THOUGH, i can probably hazard a solid guess that the PAF isnt adopting soviet doctrines, rather, AWC just thought instead of totally redesigning a missile from scratch to fit an IR seeker, it was just easier to redesign the FAAZ to fit it instead. Though remember, i dont expect these missiles to be much more than a learning exercise. When the israeli's attempted to design their own missile, the Phython-1 its performance was piss poor, resulting in zero kills, however, they took what they have learnt and they have created arguably one of the most capable family of missiles there is. Though, i fear, we are too late to the party to be able to learn from operational experience, but, i guess late is better than never.

Yet even as new short-range air-to-air missiles like the AIM-9X have eclipsed the prior AIM-9L/M Sidewinder series, there are still throngs of these older Sidewinders in stockpiles around the globe. With that in mind, Germany's Diehl Defense, which remains an OEM for the AIM-9L/M, came up with the idea of converting these missiles into laser-guided, low-collateral damage, highly precise air-to-ground weapons.

It is not the first time the Sidewinder has been eyed for air-to-ground applications. Most notably, the AGM-122 Sidearm variant of the Sidewinder was adapted to take out enemy radar emitters in the close-range anti-radiation missile role. You can read more about this unique weapon in this past piece of ours. There have been other experiments as well and the AIM-9X has an increasingly robust secondary air-to-ground capability. Other countries, most notably Iran, have toyed with AIM-9 design, too. That country recently unveiled an indigenous knock-off anti-tank variant of the Sidewinder.

Even the AMRAAM has been converted to air to ground air defense system.

Thats the opposite... "surface" to Air similar to Sea Sparrow /Aspide SAM or the AIM-9 version of the SAM called Chaparral.
