Shahed-136 - Tracking usage & expanding understanding.

Example of Russian missile strike, probably reported as NATO vehicles destroyed.
Ironic since it was actually the rear of a Patriot missile.

But by all means, keep using your wunderwaffe Gepard, I really don't think anyone minds.

Im using the Gepard as much as you are using a Shahed. Just stating the obvious, feel free to ignore it.

the obvious is only 1062 shahed launched at ukraine it means only 20 day of shahed launch if we go by Ukraine numbers. :undecided:

Did you even spend some time counting the official numbers given by Ukraine, or do you just make up numbers supporting your agenda?

go and add those funny interception claims photos , always 30+ usually around 50 claims
never a single piece of proof

You have all the proof you need in order to prove your claim (just count the numbers given in the “funny interception claims”), but you didnt.

i never see them , which proof but i saw a lot of twitter video that show geran-2 hit something

and yes those funny interception claims are my proof i see more than a hundred of them
funny is you guys moan about Russia attack Ukraine and guess what a math say Russia according to you only attacked Ukraine with missile and drones in 20-30 day and 99% of those missile and drones get intercepted
now i ask myself what you guys are complaining about

Im not complaining. I am saying you are making up numbers. I know you are iranian. Maybe its just some nationalistic pride because the Shahed is iranian.

i don't make them , the one that made those photos made them

A Shahed is flying slower than any target drone the germans have been firing a Gepard at for 50 years. I think its safe to believe interviewed Gepard crews when stating they only need to fire short bursts when a Shahed is within range.

There is what 25-50 Gepards? Range is what less than 10KM?

So they literally have to be at the right place at the right time to down a drone the size of a compact car.

Given the size of Ukraine-they simply do not have enough SOHRAD systems to down a shahed.

If you understand physics then a Shahed RCS object is not sufficiently getting detected via radar till about 30-50KM away from the radar source.

Don’t confuse search radar with targeting radar. Every country has early warning radar, but that doesn’t provide enough of data for targeting.

Also do not discount the body of Shahed. It is very resilient to small arms fire due to body composition. This has been stated by Ukraine themselves where Shahed have continue flying after taking decent damage from large caliber rounds.

I said in my previous post the ukrainians have to prioritize, so why do you even beat this dead horse? Doesnt change the fact that a Shahed is gone if passing a Gepard.
A Shahed is loud as a flying scooter. The ukrainians dont need radars for early warning. You just need somebody texting a drone was passing in a certain direction, and you have time to warn every mobile AA team down the road - a drone visibly flying a few hundred meters over a couple of AA teams is just as dead as a car trying to get by.
Now please dont bother me with any specs of the Shahed/Geran. Its 6 m2 of flying plastic weighing 200 kg with no optics or sensors and not something from the future.

simply put the Shaheed 136 is so low cost effective its winning by financial viability

NATO standard air defence is costing billions while Iranian drones come in swarms

its like Hezbollah and their 100,000+ rockets in Southern Lebanon, huge deterrence, even last month Israel said we are hitting Palestinian groups in Lebanon and never even used the word Hezbollah

Iron Dome is too expensive and they dont have enough to stop them

$1 vs their 10$ and you can see who will win

very good work by Iran

Russian UAV-kamikaze “Geran” hit the ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Zhytomyr

May 28, 2023

The morning of May 28 was remembered not only by the inhabitants of Kiev. At 5 am, the citizens of Zhytomyr were awakened by a powerful explosion, followed by a series of secondary detonations and a strong fire at one of the affected facilities. Apparently, it was a large ammunition depot, possibly fuel for vehicles was still stored there.

It should be noted that eyewitnesses published a video of the explosion. According to information received from this area, it was the arrival of the Russian Geran kamikaze UAV, which flew deep into the air defense facility and hit the object. The delivery of the 20-kilogram warhead was successful.

Moreover, the Geran, which is called a “flying moped” because of the noise and slowness, is not the first time it successfully flies right on target, bypassing the air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are in close proximity. From this we can conclude that the RF Armed Forces have somewhat changed the tactics of using these kamikaze UAVs, and Ukrainian air defense operators have not been able to adapt to the new algorithm of actions.

According to reports, “Geran” simply dived with a turn, i.e. she made a semicircle and dropped sharply at speed. This maneuver indicates that the “brains” of the kamikaze UAVs have been tinkered with by specialists who have amended the software to make the flight task more convenient and now the Geranium operators can put the preferred option for hitting the target into the guidance unit.

All of the above suggests that the refinement of technology is carried out on the job, both literally and figuratively, i.e. during the course of hostilities. This will make the weapon more reliable and efficient.
