What's new

China Eastern set to operate C919's first commercial flight on Sunday, flying China's busiest domestic flight route from Shanghai to Beijing

When the C919 lost its certification by changing components that are not approved.

The Chinese are primarily certifying the C919 with the FAA as a "showcase" example.

To fly in China, Chinese airworthiness certificate by Chinese authorities is good enough. FAA certification means jack squat to them.

Everyone knows that the FAA protects its own aviation industry. Google the Mitsubishi Spacejet flap with FAA and the Japanese are American allies! :azn:

If the C919 can replace Airbus and Boeing equivalent airplanes in China, that is 90% of the Chinese objective. And how big do you think the Chinese aviation market is? It's larger than the US market. Well played as losers - yeah hold up that big "L" to the forehead.

if it is to be sold to other countries it would need to be at steep discount due to it being xi jinping brand plane

it's honestly sad to see good chinese products all have to be sold at discount due to xi jinping's terrorism acts

Are you totally out of your mind or delusional, when did China become a terrorist country ?

Yes they could. And the widebody plane they're building in imitation of the Airbus 350 might be a good replacement for PIA's long gone Airbus 310s.

I used the FAA certification only as an example of what is/are required.

Here are other countries' requirement...

If the C919 want to enter those markets, it will have to conform to ALL of those requirements. China can always bribe a country to waive its own certification, but the original intent is still there -- that the C919 still have to submit itself to the certification process.

Get it?

didnt say china, just said xi is a terrorist

i love china and the chinese people, even the govt under previous leaders

Xi has been in power for 10 years already, arguably the best 10 years in China's comprehensive development. I don't support Xi's third term and some of his policies, but it doesn't mean I turn blind to his achievement.

Let's talk based on facts, not emotions.

Lol, xi isn't a terrorist either, don't make BS.
the covid lockdowns and economic/social crackdowns have show me what true terror is, and i used to think north korea, taliban, and cartels are scary

deep down you know china's prosperity has nothing to do with him, and that none of his policies have produced any positive results

he simply thrives on the positive results of polices of his predecessors.

sad to see a potential competitor to the US go down like like this, if i was China's enemies i would simply tell xi how good of a job he's doing and that he should stay on forever and believe in himself and keep up with his good work (in destroying the country)

no wonder birth rates are precipitously dropping, who wants to raise kids in a potential super north korea?

Talk nonsense, by the large, there is not any thing wrong with China's covid policy, much better that the murderous covid policies of US and India that killed millions of people in your countries. Chinese economy needs correction too from previous decades. You CIA mole and Americans just want China to bow to US interest and will just as Deng was pro-West that you people like so much, and your terrorist US could bomb Chinese embassy in Europe at will with impunity, too bad, those days are gone now.

the only difference between china plicy and covid policies of the rest of the world is many chinese got a taste of xi’s terror for 3 years

watching the lockdowns and reopening as a scientist in the US is like watching a horror movie

you really don’t think atleast a.million died from covid in china after the opening? if so then u should do a scientific study and find out why and get a nobel prize for discovery of something that could prevent future deaths

i had chinese colleagues were texting me at 1am asking if i could do a fake prescription to get paxlovid so they could send it to china

That's come out foul mouths from the ill wishes of Americans that just want to hide how bad your society screwed up Covid 19 handlings by dragging China in it. Lol, millions of Chinese died in the Covid, only fools would believe it.

ARJ21 efficiency and reliability is a big success. I reckon C919 will be as good.

Now China need just to upgrade the engine. LEAP1C while is very good is not the best from Safran.

Quietly, 100 ARJ21 delivered and NO serious accident till date.

This is by far the safest pilot program if compared to Airbus or Boeing.

For now - to be sold in China only which is plenty.

If there are 30 to 50 C919 airplanes a year built (which is still a long shot), that is still a very small percentage of the total single aisle requirement in China (Airbus and Boeing narrow body variants), which is somewhere in the order of 10% of the single aisle narrowbody. So plenty of room for eventual takeover of the whole Chinese market, if that is even the plan.

The Chinese will keep COMAC busy with both ARJ-21 and the C919, don't worry.

These are not my words, they came from one of the largest lessors of airplanes globally, Air Lease Corporation (ALC). Aviation week organized a seminar to discuss the C919 where Steven Udvar-Hazy (ALC president) commented on this.

Don't know why you are changing goalposts and keep bringing up FAA approvals repeatedly when no one in China cares. I am guessing you either are incapable of understanding what I am saying or willingly sidestepping the facts.

FAA doesn't matter, neither does approvals for countries other than China - full stop. I am done with this exchange, please don't answer.

There is a saying in South Asia, cows don't die on vulture wishes. This guy is talking along those lines.
