From the Main Article,

An editor of Hindi Daily, Dainik Bhaskar and Mohammed Tanvir, a journalist, is also booked for allegedly disseminating false information and animosity. A Tamil Nadu police team has been assembled to arrest the accused.

Looks like PFI attempt to Stir the Pot.

It's standard politics.
And people fighting about south vs north here is meaningless. North is vast but underdeveloped due to high population density and relatively lower development. Most people from North move to cities like Pune, Mumbai, Delhi for better opportunities. South has excellent literacy rate and high rate of development due to it being sparsely populated.
Most people from south don't know hindi unless they've lived in cities for long or were brought up in different cities. I have 2-3 southern friends, I converse with them in English. They just know a little hindi.

I was speaking to an Indian from Hyderabad, here in NYC, and when I said something in Urdu he said “was that Hindi, I thought you were speaking Spanish”. He appeared to be a 30 year old guy.

Is the language divide that pronounced that English really is the coming national language of india?

UP home of Urdu hai, home of the nawabs, and the kebabs

Bihar is a lost cause.. India ka Alabama x 1xmillion times moar bumpkin, with a desi tadka
According to the report of labor ministry highest percentage of migrant labourers are coming from UP
The data provided by the Ministry shows that Uttar Pradesh has biggest share (26 per cent) of migrant workers who returned to the State followed by Bihar (12 per cent),West Bengal and Rajasthan (11 per cent), Odisha (7 per cent) and Madhya Pradesh (6 per cent).

I don’t understand how you feel proud of being enslaved by Nawabs ?
Bihar is the home of Magahi Prakrit
Home of Greatest Empires most notably the Gupta and Maurya Empire
Home of Ashoka The Great and Chandragupt Maurya
Mecca of Buddhism and Jainism
The land where Siddharth Gautam was enlightened to become Buddha
The Dharmachakra on Indian national flag is Bihar
The national emblem of India is Bihar

Nah Hindi is the national language of India it's just the south where Hindi is not that widely spoken. As you know Indian states are linguistically divided, you have like a different language in different state ie. Marathi In Maharashtra, Bhojpuri in Bihar, Gujrati in Gujrat etc. In most states people can understand hindi due to the large movement of people from one state to another (office workers, govt staff, labourers etc).
I'm from Maharashtra but not a native but you can pretty much not know Marathi and still live there, almost everyone knows hindi fully or upto manageable standards.
This movement of people is not that high in south, so not much incentive for a hindi speaking culture to develop there.
Also you can say English is sort of a national language of India too as it's used like everywhere in our courts, schools, exams, in normal life etc.
All the political blabber, discrimination talks in news is due to the political parties ie. BJP and communist party being at odds.

So English is a more universal language

I read somewhere that it was fake news generated by some radical Islamic organization the only objective of this fake news was to malign the image of Tamil Nadu and to hurt the economy of Tamil Nadu and India as a whole
Similar incident happened in Bangalore few years back but then the people of North East were targeted by propoagating fake news about violence against people of North East in Bangalore , Since now it’s very difficult to carry out 26/11 type attacks , terrorist organizations have resorted to this new strategy of information warfare be careful of such fake news

Not fake news that what the Tamilnadu govt wishes to project to diffuse the tense situation

Latest ' Hindi migrant killed, local police it was an accident. Whom you believe ?

Local Tamils are not happy with the high rate of hindi migrants This has created social problem such as increase crime. By taking up jobs at a lower pay , many locals unemployed listen to what they Tamil ladies say in the vdo.

Yes, especially now that states with their own identity away from the Hindi heartland feel more and more threatened by the one nation-one religion-one party- one language wave. This dissent/rebellion accelerates as we travel Maharashtra and traverse down south.

About your experience - Hyderabadi’s in general understand Hindi better than most people in the south - probably the best aside from Bangalore - both being Tier 1 cities.
