Featured US blocks delivery of Turkish gunships to Pakistan

its time to join turkish hands to develop their own engine keeping in mind the idea of technology transfer to pakistan, cost will be shared among both and its over all benefits as well... it would be a win win situation for both countries ,...... and i am sensing pakistan has waited this long for some reason,, may be behind the curtain already initiatives are at advance stage... below news catch my eyes and made me think above

We have talked with much bravado about joining hands-with the Turks on the-project. Let us evaluate it a bit further.
Finances.
When you join a project you commit money to it to buy a share of the-work. I suspect the 1.5 billion for 30 helos had offsets to build some parts of the body ourselves. US was willing to supply you 12-15 Zulus for 900million so it seems the price was appropriate for the number of platforms.
Technology.
We need to be able to bring something to the project. Currently we are only in a position to build the airframes. Here also there has not-been much evidence of large scale composite part manufacturing althpugh I am aware the facilities exist at PAC. WE need a technical evaluation of what we can realistically do and I suspect barring body and wiring /engine harnesses, realistically currently we do not have the capacity to do more than that. If we ask for facilities to be erected for a further share in the building then the cost is likely to go up possibly by a billion or 2.
Labour.
We have some experience of manufacturing/overhauling. One of the recent videos showed a Cobra being refurbished at PAC which shows we have some capability. However how much rains unlnown. Our labour costs are likely to be low which menas if we hace enough expertise the per unit cost will go down as against manufacturing in Turkey alone.
Engine and parts.
We have very little (if at all) capability of manufacturing engine parts. We lack the metallurgical base and skill sets to be able to do this. Till such time that we establish our own specialized steel plant and start R&D that is unlikely to change. So these will come from St elsewhere and there is not much that can be done about it.
So I thinl realistically we will be vonfined to assembly and body works in the project. This might equate to a 20-30% share in a-Helo project. However we need to start somewhere. A good start will be with a dual use platform with civil military use which can then be progressively built locally as we advance the skill set and buildimg capacity. Further developments can then beade and we can then look at a purely military platform.

American decisions are not making it feasible to source either option in numbers. .
American decisions are not new. They have always been known so again the question arises why are those considered options when you cant procure?

Therefore, PA might have to look at other alternatives now

This should have been done from the get go and not waste time chasing wild goose after all Choppers are not cars that we can get from the market. Requires time for procurement, logistics, crew training, pilot training what not.
Like always we are once again caught with our pants down.

Perhaps PA felt that Turkish deal was better.

US blockage turns out to be a blessing in disguise for us as far as being self sufficient is concerned.

it was if we have domestic chopper program . but its not we will buy from china

Probably the kickback was more for the Turkish Heli, Boyz trying to pull it through to make it big

Pakistan - Turkey , defensive partnership is beyond American influence , we are beyond that period
We will use Turkey's high performance engine

+ 36 Shinny new Helicopters , Follow up order of 40-50 more inshallah for the Western Front

The Engine story is old 4-5 year old story , we already have a plan B , which is Turkey's own Engine for which we will have
spares in abundance

Pakistan - Turkey , cooperation will expand to next level

Why American engine is not available , it will be considered for future purchases lessons learned

It was expected. Anyway it doesn't affect us. we should build better relations with Sweden, Ukraine and Russia. i think we shouldn't beg for more f-16s. we should slay America now. They are doing everything in favor of India. very powerful Indian lobby in Washington. We should end all diplomatic ties with Americans. it's useless to trust Americans. even after 17 years, they blame Pakistan for Afghanistan mess.

What are we getting from americans? no money, probably spare parts for f-16s. no aid, no support in fatf. They are behaving like enemy.

Also why do we need all these weapons? to copy Indians? they are making everything in their own home now or at least trying. we aren't even trying because we can give our money to china easily. come on, wake up. make your own industry. obviously don't hire civilians without merit in this industry otherwise it will become bankrupt within months hahaha. hire engineers from other countries. ask them to help our industry. there are many who wants to help. stop complete dependence on china. make your own weapons. Try to make rifles and artillery first! Army needs better guns.
Yes but make sure you keep mil officers out of any R&D and engineering work - not even as liason; they are just a user; let there be a clean slate and demarkation of roles. They have done enough damage putting in their fingers where it does not belong.
