Future of Pakistan's Indigenous EW & Radar Systems

Not that I want to push you to do it but that would be great if you can :p
I will in the evening.

Until then, some other snaps:

There was a lot of radar related research work done in Pakistani universities funded by GOP during Musharraf era, and Pakistan made good progress towards AESA technology, then came democracy and all is history..
But there was a home made GSR which was cleared for mass production.

This radar's original name was NR-1 or National radar 1 and was made at NUST by PHD students doing their thesis... Details can be found on NUST website in their finished projects list.

There was a lot of radar related research work done in Pakistani universities funded by GOP during Musharraf era, and Pakistan made good progress towards AESA technology, then came democracy and all is history..

One of the casualties was the $300mil national electronic complex (NECOP) that was to be build by CETC China.

I believe if things had not been derailed by now we would have been making TR modules and AESA families locally.

Subsystems for special mission aircraft (e.g., LRMPA, EW/ECM, AEW&C, etc).

I think AESA TRMs are still on the cards, but now as part of Kamra Aviation City. Be it locally or with a foreign partner, the PAF wants to functionally source the FGFA from Pakistan.

If that means we bring in a foreign company to manufacture locally (but they own all of the IP), then so be it, as long as they do whatever they need to do in Pakistan.

a radar research group has been re-established at nust. dont know much about it, other than that profs from rimms and seecs are involved.

One of the casualties was the $300mil national electronic complex that was to be build by CETC China.

I believe if things had not been derailed by now we would have been making TR modules and AESA families locally.
up and running, as we speak. dont know what they are doing right now though.

The funding for that project was taken away by Raja rental for allegedly spending on his constituency...just before elections...

I pains me to see so many could have been in our history...

NECOP not NIE. I think it either didn’t materialize or just a fraction of original plan under NESCOM

I pains me to see so many could have been in our history...

Story doeant end there. Some funds were later released in Zardari era ....to a politically appointed head of the project who just went on a buying spree and spent money on useless expensive items, probably for kick backs..
The only thing NRTYC got was a few circuit board printing machines...
I am quite surprised NRTC has been able to accomplish that much.
Thye radar project was well and truely dead, and even then NRTC partially revived in GSR project under leadership of Raheel Sharif...
Then people ask about defense budget spending without looking at how much damage politicians like Zardari did to national defense.

@Bilal Khan (Quwa) There was a recent tender floated by the PAC, concerning the procurement of 'X-Band Quad Transmit-Recieve Modules for Airborne Applications'.

What do you think that's all about?

It's tough to say, but if Google's right, it seems like a key part for an AESA radar.

So, it could be an in-house AESA radar project, either for testing/experimentation or a real solution (e.g., ISR for drones).

talking about necop. feel free to visit anytime.

funds were partially released later I think after Zardari era during NS or Shahid Khaqan tenure
yeah, like I said, up and running.

or just a fraction of original plan under NESCOM
nope. a lot of money, the psdp time frame has been extended as well.
