JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

The intakes are different. The earlier block intake edge's end behind the starting tip of the wing or whatever it is called. Whereas the 3's edges dont go bacwards. They end before the start of the wing.

The latest image claimed that the maiden flight of JF-17 Block III (#3000) took place on December 15, 2019 in Chengdu. The aircraft features a J-20 style wide-angle holographic HUD as well as J-10C style forward IIR MAWS sensors behind the engine air intakes.

I am still hoping it has at least two new hard points

Aren't dual rails better than a permanent pylon? Adition of a new pylon would add to RCS, dual racks can be added on-demand without increasing RCS at other times.

imaging infrared maws? Interesting. Can it do tracks of fighter jets too, like DAS? Forming a complete spherical situational awareness picture.

Wao, that HUD coming from J-20 is huge. Good to find J-20s technology is making its way to JF-17s already. Really happy!

Those will also have dual rack capability

Under intake pylon was confirmed it may be there but from close up one cannot see them as there is a cover which is put on pylon attachment point and you cannot see the attachments at least I could not even for existing one

under intake was mentioned for pods plural so assuming like j-10 There will be at least 2

No, your angle is slightly off. Try this, they look the same size:

Ooooh DUDE...your right, looks the wings of the Blk3 have been pushed a bit back, earlier blocks, the wing root began where the intake top edge ended while in the Blk3 there are some inches between the intake top edge and the the beginning of the wing root (notice red boxes to highlight the difference)...

That is one really wide HUD and nose looks beefier. Also new LED landing gear lights just as Bravo.
