Like RSS dream of Akhand Bharat ruled by Brahmins and Elites, the Muslims many of them crave for an Islamic rule of the Indian subcontinent.

I don't believe in RSS either. I believe in nationalism before religion, so is my family. That is how my mother raised us. We are hindus, but my brother married a sikh just 3 months ago. I too would behave like him, if I would have been in his place.

That's one of the first tenets of being a RSS guy. They claim to be (pseudo)nationalists while they are all for Hindu Ummat. Besides Nationalism also needs to be consumed in moderate. Hyper nationalism makes Andh Bhakts. For example, if I slaughter a cow and cook eat it in Rajasthan, the Desh Premi nationalist gets violent. Why oh why? Because, 99.99% of Indian nationalists are tools in the hands of Hindutva fascists.

Pakistan is a big enough mistake. I have found out that the retarded behavior of many Pakistanis traces back to the very nature of this state. If we look into history Hitler and other Nazi leadership was retarded enough and one can argue that was eventually due to the very nature of the German state. The German empire should've never been created. That region was best suited to small independent states like it was before 1871. One reason could be because those people were fiercely independent and self-governing. But Napoleonic wars provided the stimulus that eventually welded those states together half a century later and that Federation caused the downfall of the European civilization.

there was popular demand by muslims to have their own homeland, and brits did the pragmatic thing by dividing before they left(otherwise it would have either led to civil war).. I dont think leadership of either side would have listened to other side. This discounting the external pressure from big countries during cold war, which would have been difficult to manage.
The only problem(that led to needless suffering) was, british wanted to leave sooner than later, and mismanaged the whole transition.
Anyway, I doubt either ML or congress leadership predicted this level of animosity between two countries.
